Full description
This is a 6-hour experience from Ubud, built around Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary, Tegallalang Rice Terrace and Ulu Petanu Waterfall. It is run by Ubud Venture Travel, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
The Tegallalang terraces are twenty minutes north of Ubud on the road to Kintamani, and they are working paddies fed by the subak irrigation system that UNESCO listed in 2012. Before about 8:30 in the morning the valley belongs to the farmers, the paddies are still wet from the night, and it is cool enough to walk down through the terraces and up the far side. By ten the coaches from the south arrive and the road above the terraces becomes a line of cafes, swings and photo platforms. There is a small entry fee at the viewpoint, and farmers along the paths through the fields ask for a few thousand rupiah to cross their land, which is normal. The swings are separate businesses with their own prices.
Pickup is offered from Sanur, Gianyar and Seminyak; the exact spot and time are agreed with Ubud Venture Travel once the booking is confirmed, and the option you choose sets whether transport is included.

Darma war ein unglaublich netter, offener und aufmerksamer Guide. Wir haben die Affen, die Reisterrassen und den Wasserfall besucht. Auf die Kaffeeplantage haben wir verzichten wollen. Daran war jederzeit ansprechbar, kannte sich aus, konnte uns in Ubud einige Dinge im Zentrum zeigen und fuhr stets sicher und zuverlässig, bei dem Verkehr auf Bali nicht einfach. Er hat uns überall alles in Ruhe erklärt und uns Zeit gelassen, alles nach unseren Wünschen zu erkunden. Wir wurden mit reichlich Snacks versorgt fühlten uns stets bestens betreut und unterhalten. Es war eine wunderschöne Tour. Unser Guide war mehr als zuvorkommend und sehr pünktlich bei unserer Abholung im Hotel. Wir haben uns sehr wohl und sicher gefühlt und waren mehr als zufrieden. Eddie ist super nett und hat auch sehr viele tolle Fotos von uns an den besten Spots der jeweiligen Sehenswürdigkeit gemacht und sich vor allem auch sehr viel Mühe gegeben.
