This is a 3-hour experience from Ubud, built around Telaga Waja River. It is run by SIDEMEN TREKKING, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
White-water rafting near Ubud runs on the Ayung river, about twelve kilometres of class II to III water through a gorge below Payangan, taking around two hours on the water. Telaga Waja in the east is steeper, class III to IV, and used by operators who want more of a run. Both rivers rise sharply after rain, which makes the wet season, November to March, the faster ride and the dry season the calmer one; operators cancel when the river is genuinely too high. There is a walk down steps to the put-in and up again at the end, and everything you take gets wet, so leave phones in the dry bag the operator provides.

Wayan is a great guide, goes out of his way to make you comfortable and keep you safe. The river is not difficult, no rain means low water level, would be different after a good rain. The scenery is spectacular, so many waterfalls, the greenery is wonderful, makes you forget about the world. Nice warung at half way point, nice lunch at the end. No steps to walk, this activity is perfect for any age or fitness level. Really enjoyed my day and would recommend it
One of the best experiences we have had. Our driver got us there on time and was very helpful. Our rafting guide was excellent. He had a fantastic personality and was very funny out on the river. The rafting itself was incredible, with scenery you could only access by doing this activity. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to explore Bali in a different way!
Must do in Sideman We booked the pick up - so easy the driver was on time. Then taken to the location. I didn’t realise they offer zip lining too which if they informed the day before I would have done it but that’s ok can always come back. Overall the whole experience was amazing our instructor was so fun and made the experince. Rafting down that river was incredible the views were amazing and the rapids were fun. This really is a must do adventure

Had a great fun packed day with the family (18, 12 and 6 year old) could have had a smaller helmet for the 6 year old. We were in 2 separate boats as they are quite small, each had an amazingly strong skipper who did all the oar work. Definitely worth paying for the photos, as we had some great action shots. We were staying in Sanur, with a 1.5 hr travel time to the river. Awesome adventure.
It was very good but we thought it had more adrenaline. Very good for families
Extremely nice rafting. we had ayung river rafting before which was for beginners and a bit boring. compared to that, the rafting on telaga waja was much more rapid and longer distance with beautiful views of waterfalls and rice field. only downsides are far from Ubud and also facilities are old (not so sophisticated) compared to those on ayung river. however, we truly enjoyed this rafting and might repeat again.
Such a fun and thrilling experience with amazing scenery of the river and surroundings, and our guide was super helpful and did all the hard work for us.
