This is a 45-minute experience in Ubud, built around Ubud Healing Therapy. It is run by Pt Vacation Bali Travel, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

Tirta Empul is a water temple on the Pakerisan river at Tampaksiring, founded in 962 AD around a spring the Balinese hold sacred. The purification ritual, melukat, means entering the pool and moving from spout to spout under the water in order; two of the spouts are reserved for funeral rites and are not used, and a guide will show you which. Sarongs are provided at the entrance, and you will want a change of clothes for afterwards. The temple is busiest with local worshippers around full moon and on Balinese holy days, which is worth knowing rather than avoiding. The presidential palace built by Sukarno in the 1950s stands on the hill directly above the springs.

Amazing experience! Learned how to make a traditional Balinese offering (canang sari), then did a purification ritual and prayer ceremony. The whole thing felt authentic and meaningful, not touristy at all. Perfect length — not too long, didn’t drag on — and really affordable for what you get. Highly recommend if you want to connect with Balinese culture in a genuine way. 5/5!

It was not what I had expected at first but ended up being so lovely. The family made us feel so welcome, explained everything so well and answered all the questions I had. We would definitely recommend. They all so lovely. As your driver to wait for you as you won’t get a Grab easily.

Me and my partner had a very special time at Ubud healing center. We discovered much about ourselves and learned valuable lessons. We had the water purification ceremony, palmistry and trauma healing and we left feeling lighter and more equipped to live our lives.
