This is a 6-hour experience from Ubud, built around Tegalalang, Penglipuran Village and Mount Batur. It is run by Trip Gotik - Bali Tours, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

The Tegallalang terraces are twenty minutes north of Ubud on the road to Kintamani, and they are working paddies fed by the subak irrigation system that UNESCO listed in 2012. Before about 8:30 in the morning the valley belongs to the farmers, the paddies are still wet from the night, and it is cool enough to walk down through the terraces and up the far side. By ten the coaches from the south arrive and the road above the terraces becomes a line of cafes, swings and photo platforms. There is a small entry fee at the viewpoint, and farmers along the paths through the fields ask for a few thousand rupiah to cross their land, which is normal. The swings are separate businesses with their own prices.

Putu Sandi was an exceptional tour guide who went above and beyond to make sure I had THE best day in Bali. We began on time in the morning and hit all the spots on the promised tour. He then proceeded to venture beyond his job description for the day and take me to really awesome local spots along the way such as a jeweller who creates her 925 and 10K gold from hand. I also had the opportunity to visit the rice field swing and zip line along the way home which was incredible! Went with 6 friends, the drive from seminyak was a little long but so worth it! The jet skis and banana boating are so much fun and out tour guide was so amazing taking photos of us the whole time and capturing it all! The hot springs after the activities was so nice and relaxing and the view is beautiful Highly recommend!
