Full description
This is a 8-hour experience from Ubud, built around Tegenungan Waterfall, Elephant Cave and Tegallalang. It is run by Your Bali Trekking Tour, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
The Tegallalang terraces are twenty minutes north of Ubud on the road to Kintamani, and they are working paddies fed by the subak irrigation system that UNESCO listed in 2012. Before about 8:30 in the morning the valley belongs to the farmers, the paddies are still wet from the night, and it is cool enough to walk down through the terraces and up the far side. By ten the coaches from the south arrive and the road above the terraces becomes a line of cafes, swings and photo platforms. There is a small entry fee at the viewpoint, and farmers along the paths through the fields ask for a few thousand rupiah to cross their land, which is normal. The swings are separate businesses with their own prices.
Pickup is offered from Badung Regency, Kuta, Denpasar, Ubud, Gianyar and North Kuta; the exact spot and time are agreed with Your Bali Trekking Tour once the booking is confirmed, and the option you choose sets whether transport is included.
The price covers Transportation by air-conditioned vehicle, Private English-speaking driver/guide, Petrol surcharge, Entrance fees and Parking fees. It does not cover Lunch, Gratuities and Other expenses, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.

I had a fantastic trip with Made. He is a great driver, very helpful and explained me a lot of things while we were driving around Ubud. He also ensured that we visited the different places at times where they are not that crowded. Very special was the rice terrace in Tegalalang which had some amazing views. I also visited the Tirta Empul temple and did the cleansing ritual. A very unique experience! (There are a lot of guides around which take photos of you, which you can buy after the ritual.) The tour is very flexible, so most of the time you can explore the places at your own pace and take

Wayan was a superstar! We loved our day with him. starting with prompt pick up from our hotel at 8am it was non-stop sightseeing and learning from Wayan about the beautiful Balinese culture and traditions. Not only did Wayan share lots of helpful information, he also took great photographs and went out of his way to get us back to our hotel on time on the dot for our evening plans. As well as the described tour, we also managed to do the water purification and stopped by a coffee / tea / honey tasting. Thanks Wayan!
Had a fabulous day out. Our driver Gede Susila was a perfect host - very knowledgeable. He answered our questions competently and confidently. We visited a range of sites but the temples were by far the most interesting especially as Gede could explain everything and more to us. Thoroughly recommend.
