Full description
This is a 9-hour experience in Ubud. It is run by SIDEMEN TREKKING, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
East Bali is the quieter side of the island under Mount Agung. The Sidemen valley has rice terraces without the crowds of Tegallalang and a view straight up to the volcano; Tirta Gangga is a water palace built by the last raja of Karangasem in 1946, with stepping stones across a carp pond; Taman Ujung is the same family's earlier palace of 1919 on the coast. Besakih, the mother temple, is a complex of 23 temples at 1,000 metres on Agung's slope and needs a sarong and, since 2023, an official guide. Further round the coast, Amed has black-sand beaches and Tulamben has the USAT Liberty, a cargo ship torpedoed in 1942 and pushed into the sea by Agung's 1963 eruption, now a wreck dive and snorkel from the beach.

La randonnée du mont agung était parfaite, le transport c’est fait très facilement, le guide était très expérimenté et connaissait parfaitement le chemin et les astuces pour que la randonnée se passe au mieux, très compréhensible et à l’écoute. Comme il a un très bon niveau, nous avons put aller assez vite au sommet avec de courtes pauses. Et par chance nous avons un beau spectacle à l’arriver avec un très beau lever de soleil. We had an excellent time hiking up Mount Agung for sunrise! Our guide was very knowledgeable and kept great timing for us throughout the trip to ensure we made it at the top right before sunrise. The views were beautiful and we had a great experience.
The hike was very tough but in totall everything was it worth. We were picked up on the right time en our guide was really nice! He helped us during the hike en we had a laugh. Also he made us a nice morning breakfast and he brought a lot of snacks for us. We did really enjoy!
My guide Juan and my driver were super professional and made the experience great. Unfortunately the weather were not in our favor. To much rain made us cut the climb short. With that said. I strongly suggest you listen to the difficulty as described in the different climbs. Im 25, healthy and active. So i felt brave enough to try, after researching for a bit and watching a couple of youtube video’s. Even though i had no experience. Im not sure i could have made it to the top, even if the weather had been perfect. I quickly found that my running shoes had no grip in the mud. And without proper
