Full description
This is a 4-hour experience from Ubud, built around Scooter, Gembleng Waterfall and Jembatan Kuning Tukad Yeh Unda. It is run by Mice Bali Travels, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
East Bali is the quieter side of the island under Mount Agung. The Sidemen valley has rice terraces without the crowds of Tegallalang and a view straight up to the volcano; Tirta Gangga is a water palace built by the last raja of Karangasem in 1946, with stepping stones across a carp pond; Taman Ujung is the same family's earlier palace of 1919 on the coast. Besakih, the mother temple, is a complex of 23 temples at 1,000 metres on Agung's slope and needs a sarong and, since 2023, an official guide. Further round the coast, Amed has black-sand beaches and Tulamben has the USAT Liberty, a cargo ship torpedoed in 1942 and pushed into the sea by Agung's 1963 eruption, now a wreck dive and snorkel from the beach.
The price covers Hotel pickup & drop-off in Sidemen, Scooter with local rider, Helmet and Fuel. It does not cover Entrance fees and Tips for the local driver are optional, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.
Sidemen. We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with Mice Bali Travels before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

My driver was very nice, and gave me a lovely, safe ride to see the: rice fields/trekking, waterfall, Koli Koli, and yellow bridge. 10/10 thank you! Note: if you want to use the pools at Koli Koli, you will probably need to make a reservation before hand. When I arrived they were all reserved already (Saturday afternoon).
Was a great way to see the main sights around Sidemen as a solo traveller who doesn't drive a scooter. Felt very safe!

I had an awesome afternoon on this tour! It was an absolute highlight of my stay in Sidemen. All the places of visit were great and the sceneries along the way are unbelievably beautiful. My driver didn't speak English very well, but he was very nice and friendly and walked along the rice fields with me. I definitely recommend this tour to anyone who can't or don't want to rent a scooter themselves but is able to sit in the back seat.
We had an amazing afternoon with Awan and Surya - they were both great drivers and we both felt very safe. They took us to some beautiful stops and gave us lots of information about each place. Would 100% recommend this tour as it was fun, informative and exciting!
We had a fantastic time on this scooter tour! Awann, Ketut and Made were excellent drivers, very friendly and patient. The scenery was amazing and they were happy to adapt the itinerary to add things we wanted to see. It was a fun way of exploring Sidemen and the Gembleng waterfall and we would highly recommend it to anyone- especially for those on family vacations that do not wish to hire a scooter themselves.

This is a great way to see Sidemen and its surroundings if you have limited time and no transport of your own. Would definitely recommend Awan and co as safe, friendly drivers.
