This is a 6-hour experience in Ubud. It is run by Trip Gotik - Bali Tours, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Balinese Hinduism is a religion of daily practice: the small palm-leaf offerings, canang sari, are set out each morning at doorways, shrines and dashboards, and a village temple has festivals on its own calendar, so there is a ceremony somewhere on the island every day. Visitors enter temples in a sarong and sash, provided at the gate, and stay out of the inner courtyards during prayer. Nyepi, the day of silence in March, closes the whole island for 24 hours, including the airport and the roads, and tours do not run that day. Balian, the traditional healers, and palm readers still practise in the villages around Ubud, and a reading is a conversation with an interpreter rather than a performance.

It was a beautiful spiritual day doing the water purification and visiting the pal reader. I would highly recommend Sumadi as a guide, he was very patient, took lovely photos and was very knowledgeable about the water privation.

Sandy was an amazing guide teaching me many things about Bali’s history, culture and customs. Things I probably should have already known given how long I’ve been coming to Bali.
