Full description
This is a 5-hour experience from Ubud, built around Tetebatu. It is run by Jago Adventure, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
The Tegallalang terraces are twenty minutes north of Ubud on the road to Kintamani, and they are working paddies fed by the subak irrigation system that UNESCO listed in 2012. Before about 8:30 in the morning the valley belongs to the farmers, the paddies are still wet from the night, and it is cool enough to walk down through the terraces and up the far side. By ten the coaches from the south arrive and the road above the terraces becomes a line of cafes, swings and photo platforms. There is a small entry fee at the viewpoint, and farmers along the paths through the fields ask for a few thousand rupiah to cross their land, which is normal. The swings are separate businesses with their own prices.
Pickup is offered from Mataram, PERAJA BUNGALOW, Aranka Tempasan, Coffee Homestay Tetebatu, Warung Monkey Forest and ARISTA Homestay; the exact spot and time are agreed with Jago Adventure once the booking is confirmed, and the option you choose sets whether transport is included.
The price covers Destination admission ticket, Guide and Fruit. It does not cover Food, Transport and Snack, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.
Jago Adventure sends the meeting point and time by email as soon as the booking is confirmed. We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with Jago Adventure before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

We had a great time with our tour guide, Haki. He was very knowledgeable about the rice fields, having worked in one himself, and knew a lot about the different plants in the area. He also quickly spotted both the black and grey monkeys for us and took us to a beautiful waterfall. Getting to the waterfall is a little adventurous, so water shoes or sturdy sandals are definitely recommended. One of the nicest personal touches was when we mentioned that we had never tried durian before. Haki immediately called a friend to arrange a good one for us so we could finally give it a try. Afterwards, we
Lan is a great guide, even if it was raining he made the tour enjoyable and thanks to him we saw the monkeys. By ourselves it would have been impossible. he explain a lot of things we learned a lot. thanks
Review We had an absolutely wonderful tour through Tetebatu today and can wholeheartedly recommend it! ❤️ Our tour guide Anwar was one of the kindest, most friendly and attentive people we have met here in Indonesia. He shared so much knowledge, humor, time and genuine attention with us. We learned so much about rice, different fruits and vegetables, the local culture and traditions. His relaxed and warm personality made the tour truly special. Thanks to Anwar, we were also able to experience the local wildlife much more closely than we ever expected. We felt incredibly welcome and well taken
This was a fantastic tour! The guide took his time to really educate us about the area and Lombok as he walked us between our destinations, regularly stopping to show us local fruits, vegetables and plants being grown as well as explaining how they are all used and cultivated. They were able to get us to each destination in time while also allowing us to really take our time throughout. The tour involved stops at the monkey forest, waterfall and rice fields before then heading off to see some spices, weaving processes and bamboo crafting which were all incredible to see. We’d highly recommend
This tour was really amazing! We got picked up on time by our very nice drivers and saw so many interesting and beautiful places. Our guide Lan was the best! He went above and beyond to show us, tell us and explain us so much! Would recommend this tour to anyone wanting to have a great time in Tete Batu!
