Full description
This is a 3-hour experience in Ubud. It is run by Five Arts Studio, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Balinese Hinduism is a religion of daily practice: the small palm-leaf offerings, canang sari, are set out each morning at doorways, shrines and dashboards, and a village temple has festivals on its own calendar, so there is a ceremony somewhere on the island every day. Visitors enter temples in a sarong and sash, provided at the gate, and stay out of the inner courtyards during prayer. Nyepi, the day of silence in March, closes the whole island for 24 hours, including the airport and the roads, and tours do not run that day. Balian, the traditional healers, and palm readers still practise in the villages around Ubud, and a reading is a conversation with an interpreter rather than a performance.
The price covers Snacks, Coffee and/or tea and Mineral water. It does not cover Alcohol, Lunch and Transport, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.

Fantastic class!!! Learnt so much about this amazing technique. Looking forward to doing more when I get home.
Excellent activity. We really enjoyed it. Very helpful staff and lots of choice on what to draw. The setting was very traditional. Would recommend.
Learnt a lot about the Keliki painting technique. So interesting and fun. Nyoman is a great artist himself and was super helpful at sharing tips and tricks on how to achieve a good piece of art work using these methods. He also was super patient and allowed me to finish my piece as it took me slightly longer than the allocated 3 hours.
I loved learning new techniques today and meeting the family. Special time for me
I really enjoyed this painting class, the studio is set at the back of a traditional Balinese home, of which I had a tour of before starting. The studio is laced with paintings and is set in beautiful garden surroundings which really helps you to relax and channel your creativity. Nyoman is a good teacher and is very patient as you learn the techniques. He helps you when needed. The class took 4 hours rather than 3 incase to need to plan for this. I was given fruit and a coffee and a bottle of water too. Over all really enjoyed this and I was impressed with my painting skills after all these y
Loved this experience thank you Juli 🙏🏼
Teachers were kind, impressively patient and skilled. Beautiful location and a great experience to learn and bring home a Keliki Painting. We went overtime and there was not a single sense of being rushed - it was about learning the final step (we could have stopped perfectly on time so it wasn't because they timed poorly). Granted was end of the day so no subsequent class, tho it bit into their down time!
