This is a 4.5-hour experience from Ubud, built around Campuhan Ridge Walk and Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary. It is run by Trip Gotik - Bali Tours, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
The Sacred Monkey Forest in Padangtegal, on the southern edge of Ubud town, is around 12 hectares of forest holding roughly a thousand long-tailed macaques and three temples that date from the fourteenth century. The monkeys are wild and used to people, which is a combination that costs visitors sunglasses, water bottles and anything edible every day; the rule is to carry nothing loose, to avoid eye contact with a monkey that is staring at you, and never to touch one. The forest opens at 9:00 and the last hour before closing is the quietest. The temples inside are working temples and are entered only by worshippers.

Really enjoyed this day, a little bit of everything, walking, market, monkeys and temples. Our guide Kar was brilliant, he helped with anything we needed and was super accommodating and knowledgeable about the area. Would highly recommend.

Was a good day, lots of walking, markets were good but preferred to just look around. Our guide was great, very good English, spoke of Balinese culture which added a nice touch. Iwayan Kar was our guide and would recommend.

My tourguide name was Dayu Putri. She was supercute , she smileyd during thw whole program. She told me a lot informacion about the forest and tempels. i loved it. My favourite was the last destination but u needed to walk really long and high to get there but absolutley worth it ,i love the nature😊
The tour was beyond expectations. Ofcourse it was all very beautifull but the most amazing part was our guide Sherif who told us so much beautiful things about the Balinese wisdom. He answered our questions in such a personal way, I cannot explain. We’ll never forget our meeting and the wise words of you and your ancestors.
This tour was absolutely marvellous. Even with a bit of rain the walk is beautiful and we learnt so much about the Balinese spiritualism from our guide Sherif. He absolutely made our tour and we had an amazing time laughing and learning from him. I would highly recommend him when booking this tour. He’s a patient and kind soul and made my wife and I feel extremely at home. We’ll never forget being told “you should ask me why”!
Picked up promptly at 6.30am - lovely Guide Lanagn who was chatty and helpful - English at reasonable level. Very keen to be sure we were fine - and drove one leg we should have walked as it was uphill and very humid. Lovely jungle walk and temple - palace gardens and chat - then monkey sanctuary - which appears to be very well run and then coffee plantation. These were our choices and all interesting. A lovely way to spend a morning. Worthwhile.
Our guide Agung was very nice, local Ubud guy, with huge knowledge about the area and will to share it with us. Regularly making sure that we are ok and comfortable, great photographer as well. Worth to wake up early to avoid crowd and heat and see the sun coming up over the jungle. From Kuta, whole trip took 6hrs,with moderate traffic. Good to fit in on more lazy day.
From the moment we were picked up we knew the tour was going to be great. Sherif our guide was funny and engaging and so passionate about the Ubud area. Our driver was awesome as well. We got to experience some of the beautiful highlights of Ubud and Sherif took some amazing photos for us to remember this special day. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to do a walking tour of the Ubud area. So many special memories made this day. We couldn't fault this at all.
