Full description
This is a 2-hour experience in Uluwatu. It is run by Cakrawala asia, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Surf lessons around Canggu happen on beach breaks, mostly at Batu Bolong and Berawa, where the sand bottom and slow, crumbling waves suit first days. Lessons run about two hours with a soft-top board and a short session on the sand first, and instructors push beginners into whitewater rather than waiting for green waves. Mornings before 9:00 are cleanest in the dry season, April to October, when the wind is offshore; the wet season brings bigger, messier surf and afternoon onshores. Rash vests are provided and reef shoes are not needed on these beaches. Book a second lesson only after the first; most people are standing by the end of it.
The price covers 2-hour surf session, Photos and videos, Mineral water, Surf equipment and Sunblock. It does not cover Pickup and Hotel drop-off, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.
Cakrawala asia sends the meeting point and time by email as soon as the booking is confirmed. We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with Cakrawala asia before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

Weather
This runs outdoors, so the operator can call it off for rain, wind or sea conditions, and that decision is usually made on the day. If they cancel, you choose: another date, or your money back in full. We do not keep a booking fee on a tour that did not run.

I had an amazing experience with the beginner surfing lesson! The instructor was very friendly, patient, and professional, and explained everything clearly, making me feel comfortable and confident even though it was my first time surfing. We had a lot of fun, and I managed to stand on the board and catch some waves! 🏄♂️🌊 I highly recommend this lesson to anyone who wants to try surfing for the first time. Great experience, great instructor, and definitely something I would do again!
The lesson was absolutely amazing, pretty straightforward and quick lesson at the beginning before jumping in the water. That gave us plenty of time to practice making the time and the money so worth it. Went home with plenty of memories and laughs from the instructor. Will cherish my first surfing lesson forever. Also, great photos and videos! Made me so happy being able to share my experience with my fam and friends back at home.

I Never surfed before. But it was fantastic . We had so much fun. Coach Silvanus & Sionet were the best. They explained it so good, It was Easy to understand. I would do It over and over again.

This was our first time surfing and it was such a fun experience! Our instructor Ferwan was the best, he was so encouraging and made the experience even better. It was good vibes, highly recommend!
We started early in the morning and were introduced to our surf instructor, Dere. We first had a short 15-minute introduction where he explained the basics and went through the theory with us. Then we headed into the water. Dere was very helpful, patient and motivating throughout the lesson. We had so much fun and felt really comfortable in the water. At the end, he gave us some water and sent us amazing photos from the session. Overall, it was such a fun experience, and Dere was a lovely and very motivating instructor. I would definitely recommend him!
It was one of my best experiences in bali. Dony and Selfanus are both great coaches. Will definitely go back.
