This is a 10-hour experience in Uluwatu. It is run by synergy tour, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

Pura Luhur Uluwatu stands on a cliff about 70 metres above the sea at the south-western tip of the Bukit peninsula, one of Bali's six directional temples, associated with the eleventh-century priest Empu Kuturan. The Kecak fire dance is performed in an amphitheatre beside the temple every evening at about 6:00, timed so the sunset is behind the performers; it runs around an hour, the chanting is done by a circle of men with no instruments, and the story is the Ramayana. Sarongs are provided at the gate. The temple's monkeys are practised thieves of sunglasses and phones, so keep both in a bag while walking the cliff path.

Our drive/guide Konik was excellent with great English and communication. Thoroughly enjoyed the Turtle Sanctuary and glass bottom boat ride. Makasti Beach for lunch was a nice break before the Uluwatu Temple & Kecak Sunset show. The show was very entertaining and the performers were top notch with a bwautiful sunset as a back-drop. A very good day out.

The trip was absolutely fantastic—from visiting the independently funded turtle sanctuary and learning about its vital rescue work, to the boat ride, relaxing on Melasti Beach with its crystal-clear water and breathtaking setting, and finally the wonderful show. Above all, our guide, Konik, made the experience truly special. His knowledge, genuine honesty and joyful spirit made it an absolute pleasure to learn more about Balinese culture and art. A glorious experience and an absolute must for anyone wishing to discover the beauty of Bali! Worth every penny!!!
