Le terrazze di Tegallalang si trovano venti minuti a nord di Ubud sulla strada per Kintamani, e sono risaie in piena attivita alimentate dal sistema di irrigazione subak che l'UNESCO ha inserito nella lista nel 2012. Prima delle 8:30 circa del mattino la valle appartiene ai contadini, le risaie sono ancora umide dalla notte, e fa fresco abbastanza per scendere attraverso le terrazze e risalire dall'altro lato. Verso le dieci arrivano i pullman dal sud e la strada sopra le terrazze diventa una fila di caffe, altalene e piattaforme per foto. C'e un piccolo biglietto d'ingresso al punto panoramico, ed e normale che i contadini lungo i sentieri tra i campi chiedano qualche migliaio di rupie per attraversare la loro terra. Le altalene sono attivita separate con prezzi propri.

I had a wonderful experience visiting the rice terraces with my guide. He was very knowledgeable and explained the history of rice cultivation in Bali in a very clear and interesting way. If you are looking for an authentic, well priced and helpful insight into the rice fields this tour is perfect.
overall I had a good experience. I did not know the swing and rice fields were two different stops. I enjoyed the complimentary coffee tasting at the swing attraction. then we went out to the rice field. our guide was patient and very hospital. Ari explained things in detial and also found some really nice photo spots for us.
I had a wonderful tour with Manu. Walking through the rice terrace fields early in the morning was such a special and refreshing experience. Manu was kind, respectful, and made me feel completely comfortable as a solo female traveller. He also helped me take some great photos, and we had great conversations on the road. I would 100% recommend!

My friends and I had a great day exploring the Kumulilir coffee plantation and Tegalalang rice terrace. Our tour guide walked us through the process of growing/processing both coffee and rice, showing us some of the traditional methods. A coffee/tea tasting was included — offering a great opportunity to try the different flavours. We also had a chance to do the swing, during this the tour guides made us feel safe and ensured they got plenty of photos.
