Bali orientale e il lato piu tranquillo dell'isola, ai piedi del Monte Agung. La valle di Sidemen ha terrazze di riso senza la folla di Tegallalang e una vista diretta sul vulcano; Tirta Gangga e un palazzo d'acqua costruito dall'ultimo raja di Karangasem nel 1946, con pietre per camminare su uno stagno di carpe; Taman Ujung e il palazzo precedente della stessa famiglia, del 1919, sulla costa. Besakih, il tempio madre, e un complesso di 23 templi a 1.000 metri sul fianco dell'Agung e richiede un sarong e, dal 2023, una guida ufficiale. Piu avanti lungo la costa, Amed ha spiagge di sabbia nera e Tulamben ha l'USAT Liberty, una nave cargo silurata nel 1942 e spinta in mare dall'eruzione dell'Agung del 1963, oggi un relitto per immersioni e snorkeling direttamente dalla spiaggia.

Taman Ujung is a must when visiting Bali! Pure charm and natural beauty are the points of strength of this destination, which sometimes is missed even if it’s not far from Tirta Gangga (20 mins approx). I had a very pleasant experience thanks to Joe/Ketut, my guide/photographer/driver for a day. Very recommended! East Bali is enchanting, quiet and peaceful, it was great to see off the beaten path places.

Our guide Iwayan Kar contacted us the day before and picked us up as scheduled. We had an amazing day and the higlight of the tour for us was the coffee tasting, the water palace and the Village tour. It is rainy season and we experienced quite a bit of rain, but our guide was so helpful with umbrella og planned the tour just perfectly. We had so many questions about everything from agriculture, traditions, religion, animals etc and our guide happily answered all our questions in excellent english. Thank you so much for an amazing day!
What a great day to remember! Mr Long is a very attentive guide, speaks good English, drives very well and knew a lot to tell. I was so happy that he went with me inside the attractions to explain. He also took good pictures of me, since I am alone. I can recommend everyone to have him as a guide for this adventure! Bali is so beautiful.
Our guide Dwipa was wonderfully charming and knowledgeable. He made our trip very comfortable and happily answered our questions about culture and information about the Water Palace, the sea salt and Candidasa. The Water Palace is stunning and incredibly serene and relaxing. Sadly, the commercialisation and tourists/resorts have overrun Sidemen Village which left a slightly sour taste. Overall, Dwipa sensed our disappointment but did his best to keep our spirits up and took us to a lovely location for lunch that allowed for one of the last splendid views of the rice terraces, ableit toutists o
My guide spoke great English, was knowledgeable on local culture, polite and friendly.
Tarka was a really great guide, very kind and he took the time to show us what the tourists don’t usually see : walking through the ricefields, visiting a local village and share a moment with local people, it was really a great day !
