Il Pura Luhur Uluwatu si trova su una scogliera a circa 70 metri sul mare, all'estremita sud-occidentale della penisola di Bukit, uno dei sei templi direzionali di Bali, associato al sacerdote dell'undicesimo secolo Empu Kuturan.
