Hiroshima's Peace Memorial Park sits on the ground beneath the point where the bomb detonated at 8:15 on 6 August 1945. The A-Bomb Dome, the skeleton of the industrial promotion hall, was left as it stood; the Peace Memorial Museum reopened in 2019 after a redesign and takes about two hours, and is not for young children. The Children's Peace Monument is hung with paper cranes sent from around the world. Hiroshima's own food is okonomiyaki layered with noodles, eaten at counters in Okonomimura. Miyajima is 40 minutes away and most visitors combine the two in one day.

We had a wonderful tour with Gordon! You can tell he is very passionate about what he does. He went above and beyond ramen and gave us a lot of history about Hiroshima and answered all of our burning questions about Japan in general. We also visited two delicious ramen spots that we would not have wandered in on our own. Book this tour if you’re looking for a very personalized experience, it definitely exceeded our expectations!

We had a beautiful afternoon with our guide Motoko. She was very knowledgeable about the different types of Ramen served in Hiroshima and had a folder of personally selected restaurants we could choose from. We loved this special touch as it gave us choice over how we spent our afternoon. Motoko was a very friendly, warm and knowledgable guide. We would definitely recommend this tour!
