Full description

This is a 6-hour experience in Hiroshima, built around Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, Hiroshima Victims Memorial Cenotaph and Flame of Peace. It is run by Voyagers Co LLC, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

Hiroshima's Peace Memorial Park sits on the ground beneath the point where the bomb detonated at 8:15 on 6 August 1945. The A-Bomb Dome, the skeleton of the industrial promotion hall, was left as it stood; the Peace Memorial Museum reopened in 2019 after a redesign and takes about two hours, and is not for young children. The Children's Peace Monument is hung with paper cranes sent from around the world. Hiroshima's own food is okonomiyaki layered with noodles, eaten at counters in Okonomimura. Miyajima is 40 minutes away and most visitors combine the two in one day.

The price covers Private tour, guide, Pickup from your accommodation on foot, Walking tour and Stress-free travel with all transit costs from pickup to. It does not cover Food and drinks, Mount Misen Observatory, Taxi and Hotel Bookings, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.

Hotel pickup in Hiroshima. Voyagers Co LLC confirms your pickup time and the exact spot once the booking is in. We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with Voyagers Co LLC before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

We booked a private tour. Our guide Sam was brilliant. He is extremely knowledgeable and interesting and also good to get on with. He knows all the history and stories but also the best place to sit on the ferry! Highly recommend. Great value for money

Our tour with Preety was exceptional and one of the major highlights of our trip to Hiroshima. Preety was engaging, humorous, and extremely knowledgeable. She taught us more about the temples, shrines, and cultural nuances in only a few hours than we learned in several days traveling throughout Japan. Would by-name request her for future tours.

Miyajima Island was beautiful. Absolutely the best temple we visited in Japan. Shah, our guide, was very helpful and knowledgeable. He was accompanied by his wife who paired off nicely with my traveling companion. We asked for a good lunch of local okonomiyaki. Shah recommended a good local restaurant and waited for us to eat. This, by agreement, limited our time in Hiroshima. We still saw the highlights of the bomb area but we needed to finish by 16:00 to catch our return trip to Osaka.

Preety was a great guide and knew lots about the buildings she showed us. We particularly liked being taken to the shrines where she explained and demonstrated the various rituals. The trip was highly personalised covering everything we wanted to see at a good leisurely pace. Preety was really friendly and easy to get along with, making the day a very enjoyable one.

Preety was fantastic! She expertly navigated us through the public transportation and ferry stations with minimal waiting. It was extremely hot and Preety managed to find shade and AC whenever possible to attempt to keep us comfortable. Miyajima Island was definitely one of our favorite experiences in Japan. Preety had interesting facts to share about the Shinto shrine and Buddhist temple. She also was helpful with our questions regarding Hiroshima. Overall it was a great experience for our family.

Our tour guide Preety was the best. We came a lot of places, we wouldn’t have found our selves. We learned a lot of Hiroshimas history on this tour. Can only recommend Preety.

Dulis was a great guide. We had expected a Japanese local guide but Dulis had lived in the area for a few years and was able to provide good local knowledge. She was intelligent, well spoken, and a joy to spend the day with. The tour was fantastic and each half was very different. We were taken to the best spots for photos and sightseeing while skipping the long tourist lines at other places. Seeing the key areas in Hiroshima was both a somber and fascinating experience. We are very glad we did this tour. One thing to note - there is a lot of walking and some stairs to climb so be prepared for

Ally was an excellent guide, she really educated us about Hiroshima and Miyajima. This tour had two very different experiences in one day. Miyajima was beautiful and was about the temple and shrine. Hiroshima, although a sobering experience, is a must see to understand the history of WW2 and the impact of the atomic bomb.
