Full description

This is a 6-hour experience in Hiroshima, built around Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, Flame of Peace and Children's Peace Monument. It is run by Legacy Trails, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

Hiroshima's Peace Memorial Park sits on the ground beneath the point where the bomb detonated at 8:15 on 6 August 1945. The A-Bomb Dome, the skeleton of the industrial promotion hall, was left as it stood; the Peace Memorial Museum reopened in 2019 after a redesign and takes about two hours, and is not for young children. The Children's Peace Monument is hung with paper cranes sent from around the world. Hiroshima's own food is okonomiyaki layered with noodles, eaten at counters in Okonomimura. Miyajima is 40 minutes away and most visitors combine the two in one day.

The price covers Private tour, tour guide, Pickup from your accommodation on foot, Entry tickets to Peace Memorial Museum and Entry tickets to Itsukushima Shrine. It does not cover Lunch, Private transportation and Accommodation, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.

Hotel pickup in Hiroshima. Legacy Trails confirms your pickup time and the exact spot once the booking is in. We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with Legacy Trails before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

We had a wonderful experience on our Hiroshima & Miyajima tour with Rom! He was excellent at communicating from the very beginning and made everything feel easy and well organized. The tour was very well paced, and Rom was extremely flexible in adjusting the itinerary to fit what we wanted to see. Since we were visiting from a cruise ship and had limited time, this was especially important to us. He made sure we were able to experience the highlights without ever feeling rushed and worked around our schedule perfectly. Rom was also incredibly knowledgeable and shared so much interesting inform

We all enjoyed, including my 2 teenage daughters, this private tour. IB is a really kind, caring and well prepared guide. The day before, he sent us a kind message with all the needed information for the tour, he arrived at the appointment early and he adjusted the tour according to our needs. I really recommend this tour.

our private tour worked well as we are travelling with young kids and it gave us flexibility. the museum was tough going and we whizzed through it at our request to minimise distress for the kids. the island was great fun and light relief after the memorial museum. our guide Yemi was great with us and the kids and very knowledgable. the day ran very smootgly
