Full description

This is a 8-hour experience in Hiroshima, built around Bus/coach, Hiroshima Castle and Atomic Bomb Dome. It is run by Japan Panoramic Tours, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

Hiroshima's Peace Memorial Park sits on the ground beneath the point where the bomb detonated at 8:15 on 6 August 1945. The A-Bomb Dome, the skeleton of the industrial promotion hall, was left as it stood; the Peace Memorial Museum reopened in 2019 after a redesign and takes about two hours, and is not for young children. The Children's Peace Monument is hung with paper cranes sent from around the world. Hiroshima's own food is okonomiyaki layered with noodles, eaten at counters in Okonomimura. Miyajima is 40 minutes away and most visitors combine the two in one day.

The price covers All taxes, Entrance fees for Atomic Museum and Miyajima, Lunch, tour guide and Multilingual audio guide in the bus. It does not cover Hotel pickup and drop-off and Vegan, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.

Currency Exchange. We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with Japan Panoramic Tours before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

This trip is an absolute must while in Hiroshima! You get to experience the devastating but important historical context of the Atomic Bomb at both the museum and monuments in the morning and then spend the afternoon and the beautiful Miyajima Island! Our tour guide Tomo was exceptional, knowledgeable and we really appreciate her effort of including our 9yr old in the days activities!

Marin our tour guide was a delight. She is very engaging and knowledgeable. It was fun to follow along with her stories and she had a wonderful sense of humor. The tour itself starts off in a somber way, but it was good to learn more about the bombing and it’s after affects. It is a cautionary tale to all of use today. The second half was spent on Miyajima island where we had lunch, visited a temple and a shrine. We also had time to shop and wander. Overall, it was a great experience and I would recommend it as a great thing to do while in Hiroshima. Make sure you get Marin as your guide.

Fantastic day in Hiroshima and Miyajima – Rino was amazing! We had such a wonderful day exploring Hiroshima and Miyajima, and our guide Rino was absolutely fantastic. We started with the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum and memorials, which was a very moving and thought-provoking experience. Rino was incredibly knowledgeable about the history and explained everything with such care and sensitivity. She really helped us understand the significance of the places we were visiting. We then took the ferry over to Miyajima, where we enjoyed some delicious local food and explored the beautiful shrines

Thank you Marin for the great day. It was really impressive how the war side and the beautiful side of Hiroshima are connected. Miyajima is a beautiful place. Hiroshima is a beautiful city. I am sad we only had those 8 hours on the tour together. And only 2 days to experience the city. But thank you again Marin for the great enthusiastic guidance through the day. ありがとうございます

Late March to early April for cherry blossom (2026 full bloom landed around March 29-31), or October-November for autumn color and oyster season. August 6 brings the Peace Memorial Ceremony — moving, but the city is at its most crowded. See our best time to visit Hiroshima guide.

Plan 2-3 hours for the park and museum together — the museum is just ¥200 and opens from 7:30 AM. Etiquette, monuments, and timing tips are in our Peace Memorial Park guide.
The torii appears to float at tide levels above ~250cm, and you can walk out to its base below ~100cm — a single day often offers both. Check tide tables before you go; the full trick is in our Miyajima Island guide.
Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki — layered, not mixed like Osaka's, with soba inside — plus winter oysters and momiji manju on Miyajima. Okonomimura's 24 stalls are the classic first stop. See the Hiroshima food guide.
Miyajima is the essential one; beyond it, Iwakuni's Kintai Bridge and Okunoshima (Rabbit Island) are both doable by train. Honest rankings and logistics in our Hiroshima day trips guide.
