This is a 2-hour experience in Hiroshima, built around Atomic Bomb Dome, Memorial Tower Dedicated to Mobilized Students and Atomic Bomb Hypocenter Monument. It is run by Travel Japan Together, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

Hiroshima's Peace Memorial Park sits on the ground beneath the point where the bomb detonated at 8:15 on 6 August 1945. The A-Bomb Dome, the skeleton of the industrial promotion hall, was left as it stood; the Peace Memorial Museum reopened in 2019 after a redesign and takes about two hours, and is not for young children. The Children's Peace Monument is hung with paper cranes sent from around the world. Hiroshima's own food is okonomiyaki layered with noodles, eaten at counters in Okonomimura. Miyajima is 40 minutes away and most visitors combine the two in one day.

We had a really great day to Miyajima island and Hiroshima, guided by the very friendly Minori. The day was well organised - it went all very-very smoothly. The island is a great place to visit, with the tori and the different shrines, in the middle of nature (inner sea and forest). The visit to Hiroshima, the memorial and the museum was super interesting: very nice museum, well documented, surrounded by a peaceful park. Minori exchanged a lot of information with us, was very-very helpful and thanks to her we had an awesome day!
