The Peace Memorial Park is not a single monument but a landscape of many smaller ones, and most visitors walk past the majority of them without knowing what they are looking at. This small-group walk with M2N Tours exists to fix that. Over roughly two hours, your guide leads you memorial by memorial through the park: the statue of the Mother and Baby in the Storm, the Prayer Fountain, the Memorial Cenotaph that frames the A-Bomb Dome through its arch, the Flame of Peace that will burn until the last nuclear weapon is dismantled, and the Children's Peace Monument draped in thousands of folded paper cranes sent from around the world. Fantastic tour with Aaze - his explanations and guiding handled the horrifying history with care so we heard a full account of Hiroshima’s story but without sensationalising. We particularly appreciated understanding the meaning behind the different features of the peace park before going into the museum (and would recommend doing the tour for that reason) as it gives a context and understanding to everything you then experience in the exhibitions.
