Full description
This is a 1.5-hour experience in Hiroshima. It is run by Nippon Journey, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Hiroshima's Peace Memorial Park sits on the ground beneath the point where the bomb detonated at 8:15 on 6 August 1945. The A-Bomb Dome, the skeleton of the industrial promotion hall, was left as it stood; the Peace Memorial Museum reopened in 2019 after a redesign and takes about two hours, and is not for young children. The Children's Peace Monument is hung with paper cranes sent from around the world. Hiroshima's own food is okonomiyaki layered with noodles, eaten at counters in Okonomimura. Miyajima is 40 minutes away and most visitors combine the two in one day.
The price covers All Fees and Taxes and All necessary materials. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.
Nippon Journey sends the meeting point and time by email as soon as the booking is confirmed. We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with Nippon Journey before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

We had a fantastic time learning to fold a crane, rabbit and acrobatic horse, Chihiro was an excellent and very patient teacher! We also learnt about the history of origami and the special place it holds in remembering the horrific events of1 1945. Placing our cranes at the Children’s Peace Monument was the perfect way to end our day in Hiroshima. This workshop was perfect and I would absolutely recommend it, Chihiro helped lighten the mood and made us feel very much welcome in Hiroshima
This was a lovely experience. I had the opportunity to learn about the history of origami and received support to make my pieces. After exploring and learning about the peace park and museum this was a great way to finish off the day.
This was such a wonderful experience! Chihiro was extremely kind and absolutely sunny personality! The session was completely customizable. I opted to do a full session of origami so I got try on 5 different shapes. She even made me complex shapes to take home because she asked ahead of time what I was interested in. Absolutely recommend making the time to learn how to do origami in Hiroshima as city's connection to this is so deep.
Wir sind sehr freundlich empfangen worden. Wir hatten viele Herausforderungen zu meistern, diese aber mit der freundlichen und geduldigen Unterstützung geschafft und dabei viel Gelacht. Die Zeit ging viel zu schnell rum. Gerne wieder. VG Gabi
