Full description

This is a 2-hour experience in Hiroshima, built around Mother and Baby in the Storm, Prayer Fountain and Hiroshima Victims Memorial Cenotaph. It is run by M2N Tours, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

Hiroshima's Peace Memorial Park sits on the ground beneath the point where the bomb detonated at 8:15 on 6 August 1945. The A-Bomb Dome, the skeleton of the industrial promotion hall, was left as it stood; the Peace Memorial Museum reopened in 2019 after a redesign and takes about two hours, and is not for young children. The Children's Peace Monument is hung with paper cranes sent from around the world. Hiroshima's own food is okonomiyaki layered with noodles, eaten at counters in Okonomimura. Miyajima is 40 minutes away and most visitors combine the two in one day.

The price covers Guided tour and Entrance to Hiroshima Peace Memorial Hall for Atomic Bomb. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.

M2N Tours sends the meeting point and time by email as soon as the booking is confirmed. We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with M2N Tours before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

Cva was very knowledgeable, had lots of facts ready but also brought dates and facts into historical context to widen perspective and understand the bigger picture - well done - it made me understand why Japan went to war overall.

Matthew was an awesome guide with a lot of information for our group. What better can happen to have a guide that studies nuclear history 😊

Matt is a PhD student full of helpful insights and knowledge about Hiroshima as well as a pure passion to share the stories of this devastating event that lingered for years throughout history. I leave with a deeper respect for the people who have and who are surviving the catastrophic event! Thank you Matt for the opportunity to learn so much more about the bombing of Hiroshima. You are a great guy! I wish you every success in your studies and in your future. As John Lennon and yoko ono sang: let’s give peace a chance!

Matthew was an outstanding guide, he was very knowledgeable and generous with his time. He gave a great perspective of the park and the circumstances leading up to the tragedy. Would highly recommend this tour either Matthew. He gave us tips on where to find the most delicious okonomiyaki for lunch. Fives stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Brilliant. Cva was a superb tour guide explaining everything clearly in a very articulate manner. Well paced - the cooler indoor section at the halfway mark much appreciated! - and covered all key monuments. Also Cva answered all questions from the group in a thoughtful and honest manner. Well worth it so book!!

Moe was an incredible tour guide. Words cannot describe how moved we were by her tour. The stories that she shared of her grandparents’ experiences as victims of the bombing, and the message of hope that guides the people of Hiroshima towards a better future, will remain with us forever. We were so grateful and humbled to have this shared with us. It was a very informative tour at a good pace for our group. Moe’s tour is an absolute must when you come to Hiroshima. 10000% recommended.

Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and gave us a lot of information to process. We visited all the sites stated in the description and it was definitely worthwhile to do a tour as all the memorials mean more when you know the history surrounding them. Definitely recommend

This is a wonderful way to add a very personal lens to the tragedy of the Hiroshima bombing. Saki was knowledgeable and personable and even got the teenagers interested! So great to have a true local take us through and great recommendations on other things to do nearby afterwards (ask about the tonkatsu!) Excellent choice totally recommend.
