Was a great way to see what we wanted to see and more. Melissa our guide gave us plenty of time to take pictures, explain history and facts about the places we stopped. Everything was planned from the bike ride, ferry trip all fees included in price. We had a great small group.

James was an awesome guide, so much knowledge. Had a great time, bikes were a great way to see the city, did expect more cycling and less trains, but overall, a great tour and worth the money.

Today would have been the best day out of all of my tours to date, I was lucky enough to do a 1:1 bike/walking tour with Sage. Very informative and knew her history really well. Choices in areas in which we covered where amazing. Overall a very relaxed vibe with great company.

We had a very nice and funny guide (James) who told stories beautifully and engagingly. It is a nice mix of walking, cycling, and boating. The lunch was delicious, and you are given plenty of water. We had a fantastic day.

We booked a day tour with bikes and a guide in Hiroshima. Melissa was our tour guide, and that was absolutely awesome for us! She was super prepared, answered all our questions, and showed us the bad side of the atomic explosion, but also the positive side of the memory, very impressively. The highlight was the island visit and the temple. Everyone was thrilled with the experience and with Melissa, who even put in overtime for us! Absolutely recommend!

We were nervous about trying to do this trip on a rainy day, but the weather mostly cooperated and our guide Sage was fantastic, providing in depth history and insight into the Peace Park, history of the bombing, Hiroshima Castle and pre-Meiji history, and the highlight of the day, Miyajima, all while helping keep us mostly dry. The ride is easy and slow riders are well supported. A great eay to see a lot of this beautiful city in one day.

Frequently Asked Questions

The city portion is done by bike, cycling between the Peace Memorial Park, the A-bomb Dome and Hiroshima Castle with stops for stories and context. You then park the bikes and board a ferry across the bay to Miyajima Island, so the island portion is on foot.
You need to be comfortable riding a bike in a flat city and walking around Miyajima afterwards, but the pace is that of a guided sightseeing day, not a sports event. Regular stops, the ferry crossing and free time break the day up well.
Wear clothes you can cycle in with closed shoes, and bring sun protection, water and money for lunch and snacks, since meals are not included. A small backpack is more practical than a shoulder bag on the bike.
The tour meets in central Hiroshima, with the exact point confirmed with the operator after booking. It is a small-group experience capped at around 10 riders.
The price covers your professional guide and all fees mentioned in the itinerary; personal expenses, meals and gratuities are extra. Confirm with the operator at booking how the ferry crossing and bike equipment are handled so you know exactly what to carry.
