Full description
This is a 4-hour experience from Hiroshima, built around Ferry, View point and Miyajima Omotesando Shopping Street. It is run by AIDO, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Miyajima, properly Itsukushima, is the island in Hiroshima Bay whose shrine stands on stilts over the water with its great torii gate in the sea, rebuilt in 1875 and restored in 2022. The gate is walked to at low tide and floats at high tide, and the tide table decides what you see; both are worth it. Deer roam the village, the ropeway climbs Mount Misen for the view over the Inland Sea, and the local foods are grilled oysters and momiji manju maple cakes. From Hiroshima it is a tram or train to Miyajimaguchi and a ten-minute ferry, about 40 minutes in all, or a direct boat from the Peace Park.
The price covers English-speaking guide, Shrine tickets, Momiji manju maple-leaf cake tasting and Photo service. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.
AIDO sends the meeting point and time by email as soon as the booking is confirmed. We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with AIDO before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

Our guide, Kaku, was great. Very knowledgeable and patient to answer all questions you may have about the tour area or Japan. We had an amazing time, highly recommend booking this tour!
The tour with Kaku was great! We went to see different Torii gates and the famous one of Miyajima. Including visiting the shrine Itsukushima jinja and Daishoin temple. We also had time to go through the shopping district where my son tried fresh grilled oyster for the first time and the local momiji cake! Highly recommended!
Very nice, we started early and beat the crowds on the ferry going over. Eddie, our English-speaking guide, was excellent at arranging our transport and explaining many details we would not have understood had we gone by ourselves.
kaku has been an amazing tour guide with lots of knowledge about the place. he answered all of our questions and also managed to make us live as much as locals as possible. highly recommend
We had a brilliant afternoon exploring Miyajima Island! Such a beautiful and breathtaking place, and we got to see so much! Beth was so lovely as a guide and made us feel very comfortable, while ensuring that we had the best possible experience. Would highly recommend for anyone looking to make the most of their visit!
Loved this tour with Kaku who was an outstanding guide. He speaks very good and clear English which is also nice. We highly recommend this tour!
Kaku is an excellent guide and teammate to spend an unforgettable day in Miyajima. Open to answer to any question and to any need, as well as to talk about Japan and abroad culture exchanges. Hope to meet him again! Strongly recommended
Our guide Kaku was exceptional . His English is brilliant and he was very informative . We wanted to meet him and travel to the Island a different way and he was very nice about it .
This was soooo nice! It was good to have our guide meet us to take the ferry (although it was super easy). She took us to a smaller shrine where there aren’t tourists, so it was nice to visit. Was exciting to see all the deer. She made she we had her recommended oysters and they were fantastic. Pey was amazing and had good background on everything and showed us her personal favorite spots!
Kaku was an incredible guide!!! He was very friendly and knew all of the hidden gems on Miyajima Island, including the best spots to take pictures and see the roaming deer. The attention to detail and invitation to participate in prayer was great and we even managed to see a wedding! Overall an amazing tour. Would highly recommend!
This tour was great! Kaku was an amazing tour guide and was able to tell us everything about the island and take us to all the cool spots. Very worth the money and would highly recommend!
