Full description

This is a 4-hour experience from Hiroshima, built around Ferry, Itsukushima Shrine Otorii Gate and Itsukushima Shrine. It is run by Voyagers Co LLC, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

Miyajima, properly Itsukushima, is the island in Hiroshima Bay whose shrine stands on stilts over the water with its great torii gate in the sea, rebuilt in 1875 and restored in 2022. The gate is walked to at low tide and floats at high tide, and the tide table decides what you see; both are worth it. Deer roam the village, the ropeway climbs Mount Misen for the view over the Inland Sea, and the local foods are grilled oysters and momiji manju maple cakes. From Hiroshima it is a tram or train to Miyajimaguchi and a ten-minute ferry, about 40 minutes in all, or a direct boat from the Peace Park.

Pickup is offered from Miyajimaguchi, Cruise Terminal and Cruise Terminal; the exact spot and time are agreed with Voyagers Co LLC once the booking is confirmed, and the option you choose sets whether transport is included.

The price covers Private tour, guide, Pickup from your accommodation on foot, Walking tour and Stress-free travel with all transit costs from pickup to. It does not cover Food and drinks, Taxi and Hotel bookings, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.

Hotel pickup in Hiroshima. Voyagers Co LLC confirms your pickup time and the exact spot once the booking is in. We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with Voyagers Co LLC before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

Ali was an amazing guide! He was very informative and helpful, he made our day enjoyable. He took us on the tram and the train to the ferry to finally arrive at Miyajima Island to see the floating Tori Gate, ice cream eating deers and the Buddhist temple. Would recommend Ali and this tour if you’re visiting Hiroshima.

We had an absolutely fantastic tour with Ali yesterday! He was incredibly accommodating, even with our last-minute booking, and made the whole experience seamless from start to finish. Ali was friendly, professional, and so knowledgeable, sharing fascinating history and local insights throughout the day. Travelling with three kids in the summer heat isn’t always easy, but he was so patient and thoughtful, constantly checking in to make sure everyone was doing okay and adjusting the pace when needed. His genuine care, enthusiasm, and passion for what he does made our day even more enjoyable. We

Shah was a thoughtful and informative guide who guided us to then around the island, He also showed us a quick route home. The best part of smaller group tours is being able to interact with the guide and learn of their experiences of living in Japan.

Everything about our trip was great. Ali, our guide picked us up in time and whisked us to the train for the ferry. He was ready with all entry tickets, never stopping for a line. Miyajima is beautiful, Ali took us to all the best photo spots, while sharing history of both Hiroshima and the island. He led us to temples and shrines, including an extreme dark cave. On our way back to town we stopped for delicious treats specific to the island. Ali, is very well informed and constantly shared info with us. On our return ferry ride he hurried ahead to secure the air conditioned room as it is HOT!

Ally was amazing! She guided us on public transit and through the crowds at Miyajima with ease, providing us with insights and shortcuts wherever possible. We all felt a special connection to the island because she kept showing us off the beaten path places. She also pointed out great places to eat and had a great okonomiyaki recommendation for after the tour. Take this tour! You definitely won’t regret it!

We had a great experience. Shah was very interesting and showed us places we would never had seen on our own. Shah went to the trouble of meeting us near our hotel and making sure we got back safely. I would thoroughly recommend this tour. Thank you Shah
