Join a local history expert for a two-hour walk uncovering the sacred past of Miyajima, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Starting from the Miyajima Ferry Terminal, you will wander the Omotesando Shopping Street before arriving at the famous Itsukushima Floating Torii Gate. Your guide reveals the stories behind Itsukushima Shrine, its five-storied pagoda and the atmospheric Daishoin temple complex on the slopes above. Along the way you will pass hidden shrines and lesser-known monuments most visitors walk straight past.

Leo was very knowledgeable about the history of the island, the shrine and temple we visited. He has a lot of interesting anecdotes, and can give recommendations about what to try for food and drink (I did try the lemon soda and it was very good). We saw some deers, they were so sweet.
The trip to Miyajima was really great and beautiful! We had a bit of trouble locating where our live guide was standing, but when we first met Leo, he greeted us with understanding, openness, and genuine care. We can definitely recommend the tour and even more so Leo with his amazing knowledge of everything, even all the tricky questions!
