Full description

This is a 3-hour experience in Hiroshima, built around Hiroshima Toshogu Shrine, Kinko Inari Shrine and Hiroshima Peace Pagoda. It is run by MyJapan, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

Gion is Kyoto's historic entertainment district, the streets of wooden machiya houses around Hanamikoji where the geiko and maiko of the Gion Kobu district still work. They are working professionals on their way to engagements, not performers for the street, and Kyoto has banned photography in the private lanes; an evening walk with a guide who explains the ochaya system is the respectful way to see it. Tea ceremony sessions in Gion teach the basic form of matcha preparation in an hour. Kimono rental for a day, with dressing and hair, is an established business around the district and is welcomed rather than resented.

The price covers Guide, Open‐air tea ceremony, Forest bathing activity and Breakfast. It does not cover Hotel pickup and drop-off, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.

1-2 Matsubarachō, Minami Ward, Hiroshima, 732-0822, Japan. We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with MyJapan before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

Stephanie was a super friendly, informative and fun guide, making this a great experience. It was very special to spend time in nature away from the crowds, and also to gain a different perspective on Hiroshima. The climb took in a number of shrines through beautiful woodland, and it was great to appreciate the volunteer work that our guide and others undertake to look after the area. The forest bathing and tea ceremony were magical experiences - I'd totally recommend doing this, I loved it! 💚

Stephanie created a very nice experience for us. She is so kind, funny and thoughtful. She shared many interesting details about the shrines we passed, how to show respect to the gods and about Hiroshimas past. The tea ceremony was really special, although the forest bathing was to me, personally (and surprisingly), the best part. It was a little bit (too) expensive, but I totally recommend this activity!

Nana, my guide was very implicated and had prepared history of Mont Futaba (close to Hiroshima station. We climbed 500 steps and then rested fot the ceremony tea she prepared in the rules of art. She even let me master the ceremony tea. Of course, at this high, no kimono like in a private room. Both ceremony are different : our was casual but with the sunny view on Hiroshima.

The tour was really nice! Learned more about Shinto, did some unique yoga and loved the modern way of the tea ceremony. The guide told us interesting stuff about the history of the place and the view on the top was amazing.

Something different to do in Hiroshima. Lovely little trekking trip up onto the hills. Left early in the morning to beat the heat but to enjoy the view once you are on the top with a cup of matcha tea in your hand. Our guide (Mimi) was wonderfully patient, ever so pleasant and of course very knowledgeable. 466 steps, forest bathing and tea ceremony to name a few…go and find out more. Enjoy!

The tour was absolutely phenomenal!!! It was incredible to learn more about Hiroshima, and not just about the bombing. Mimi was absolutely brilliant and I’d go back and do the tour 100 times over with her!!! The hike was lovely as was the stop for the tea. Forest bathing was a beautiful way of getting in touch with nature, and something I’ve never done before. I would do this again and again, I absolutely loved it!

This was a really unusual tour compared to tours we have done before The hiking part was lots of steep steps (over 500 up and not much less coming down) and my legs are still feeling it two days later but the Shrines, views , the tea ceremony and the forest bathing experience made up for that! Thankyou Naomi for making this such a great experience
