Full description

This is a 2-hour experience in Hiroshima. It is run by Pinpoint Traveler, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

Hiroshima's Peace Memorial Park sits on the ground beneath the point where the bomb detonated at 8:15 on 6 August 1945. The A-Bomb Dome, the skeleton of the industrial promotion hall, was left as it stood; the Peace Memorial Museum reopened in 2019 after a redesign and takes about two hours, and is not for young children. The Children's Peace Monument is hung with paper cranes sent from around the world. Hiroshima's own food is okonomiyaki layered with noodles, eaten at counters in Okonomimura. Miyajima is 40 minutes away and most visitors combine the two in one day.

The price covers Bilingual guide, okonomiyaki chef, Cooking experience, One drink and Hands-on experience cooking your own Okonomiyaki. It does not cover Additional Drinks & Food, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.

Pinpoint Traveler sends the meeting point and time by email as soon as the booking is confirmed. We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with Pinpoint Traveler before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

Our day in Hiroshima with Ken and Seiya was a total highlight! We started with the beautiful Shukkeien Garden, followed by a deeply moving guided tour of the Peace Memorial Park and Museum. Ken provided incredible insights into the Hiroshima blast and history that we never would have found on our own. Beyond the history, we had a lovely tea/coffee break where we exchanged stories about our different ways of life. Ken even helped us with translations at a shrine and assisted us in taking photos throughout the experience. While we explored Miyajima on our own in the afternoon, Ken’s expert sugge

I had such a great time doing this activity! My guide, Ken, was friendly, attentive, and made the experience really enjoyable. Making Okonomiyaki was so much fun — the chef demonstrated each step while I cooked alongside in the restaurant. Ken translated everything clearly into English, so I could follow along easily. The final dish was absolutely delicious! I’d highly recommend this hands-on experience to anyone looking for something authentic and interactive.

This tour definitely deserves 10 stars! What a fantastic time we had with our guide, Ami! We met her at a different meeting point than originally planned, but she gave us excellent directions and made it very easy to find her. After meeting, she took us to an Okonomiyaki restaurant, where the chef taught us how to make our own Okonomiyaki. We could do every step ourselves, which made the experience even more fun! Ami’s English was fantastic, and she helped us communicate with the chef perfectly. She also had an incredible knowledge of Hiroshima, its history, food, and people. Our Okonomiyaki w

Ken our guide was very knowledgeable and spoke very confidently about Hiroshima and Okonomiyaki. We loved the small group setting and the impromptu tour of some land marks in Hiroshima. We would recommend this tour to others looking to know more about the area and try something different.
