Full description

This is a 3-hour experience in Hiroshima. It is run by Native Japan, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

Hiroshima's Peace Memorial Park sits on the ground beneath the point where the bomb detonated at 8:15 on 6 August 1945. The A-Bomb Dome, the skeleton of the industrial promotion hall, was left as it stood; the Peace Memorial Museum reopened in 2019 after a redesign and takes about two hours, and is not for young children. The Children's Peace Monument is hung with paper cranes sent from around the world. Hiroshima's own food is okonomiyaki layered with noodles, eaten at counters in Okonomimura. Miyajima is 40 minutes away and most visitors combine the two in one day.

The price covers local guide, Guided walking tour of Hiroshima’s main highlights, Visit to Peace Memorial Park and Atomic Bomb Dome, Walk around Hiroshima Castle grounds and Entrance fee to Shukkeien Garden. It does not cover Food and drinks, Transportation, Personal expenses and Entrance fees, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.

Native Japan sends the meeting point and time by email as soon as the booking is confirmed. We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with Native Japan before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

Frequently Asked Questions

Native Japan sends the meeting point and time by email as soon as the booking is confirmed.
The price does not cover food and drinks, transportation (not required as the tour is fully walkable), personal expenses and entrance fees (if any optional stops are added outside the standard route). Everything it does cover is listed in full on this page, so if something is not on that list, budget for it separately.
The listing gives the distance and the terrain; most walking tours are flat and paced for average fitness, and cycling tours use river paths and back streets with e-bikes available on request. Summer in the cities is hot and humid from July to September, so early starts and water matter more than fitness.
We confirm your booking with the operator before we treat it as final, and we need at least one day's notice. Once it is confirmed you get the meeting point, the time and a contact number for the day. If the operator cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

Late March to early April for cherry blossom (2026 full bloom landed around March 29-31), or October-November for autumn color and oyster season. August 6 brings the Peace Memorial Ceremony — moving, but the city is at its most crowded. See our best time to visit Hiroshima guide.
The Hiroden streetcar (flat ¥240) covers most sights, and the meipuru-pu loop bus is free with a JR Pass. Miyajima is a ¥200 ferry ride plus the ¥100 visitor tax. Full fares and passes in getting around Hiroshima.
Two days is the sweet spot: day one for the Peace Memorial Park, Museum and city, day two for Miyajima Island. Our 2-day Hiroshima itinerary maps it hour by hour.
Plan 2-3 hours for the park and museum together — the museum is just ¥200 and opens from 7:30 AM. Etiquette, monuments, and timing tips are in our Peace Memorial Park guide.
The torii appears to float at tide levels above ~250cm, and you can walk out to its base below ~100cm — a single day often offers both. Check tide tables before you go; the full trick is in our Miyajima Island guide.
Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki — layered, not mixed like Osaka's, with soba inside — plus winter oysters and momiji manju on Miyajima. Okonomimura's 24 stalls are the classic first stop. See the Hiroshima food guide.
Miyajima is the essential one; beyond it, Iwakuni's Kintai Bridge and Okunoshima (Rabbit Island) are both doable by train. Honest rankings and logistics in our Hiroshima day trips guide.
