Full description

This is a 11-hour experience from Mount Fuji, built around Bus/coach, Oshino Hakkai and Highland Resort Hotel & Spa. It is run by LIMON Tours, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

Mount Fuji is 3,776 metres, Japan's highest mountain and an active volcano that last erupted in 1707. Day tours from Tokyo go to the Fuji Five Lakes on its north side, about two hours away: Lake Kawaguchiko for the classic reflection view, Oshino Hakkai's spring-fed ponds, the Chureito Pagoda above Fujiyoshida with the mountain behind it, and often the Fuji Subaru Line to the 5th Station at 2,300 metres when the road is open, roughly April to November. The summit is climbable only in July and August. Fuji is visible on roughly a third of days and most often in winter mornings; from June to September it is hidden in cloud more often than not, and no operator can promise the view, so the lakes and the pagoda are planned as worth the day on their own.

The price covers Round-trip coach transportation from Tokyo, Air-conditioned vehicle with Wi-Fi and USB charging, and friendly English-speaking guide, Real-time live translation in 75+ languages and Lunch. It does not cover Personal expenses, Hotel pickup and drop-off and Luggage transport, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.

Bus Terminal Tokyo Yaesu. We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with LIMON Tours before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

This was my first trip to Japan, and I booked this amazing tour. Honestly, it turned out to be one of the best experiences of my trip. Everything was well organized, and the places we visited were absolutely beautiful. I especially enjoyed the free time at Kawaguchiko. During that time, I joined the boat ride on Lake Kawaguchiko, and it was such a peaceful and unforgettable experience. The view of Mount Fuji from the lake was simply breathtaking. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Japan. It was truly worth every moment, guys!

Tomoko was an excellent guide and made sure everyone was well aware of the itinerary and time that we had to be back. I would definitely recommend. I was able to get a good view of Mount Fuji when I went in mid-February.

Terri was informative and friendly and she managed to coordinate the small group (7 of us) so that we could fit in all activities.

The taxi situation was a bit strange, we were all a bit unsure as to why we had to get 2 taxis instead of the bus just taking us and waiting in a certain location like most other tours do

The tour was well planned and the tour guide did an amazong job providing information and facts during the trip. Tips where to eat lunch if not booked along with the tour were also very helpful. The spots are nice, the cable car ride can be surrigated with a hike up and/or down if you feel like it. We had intermediate luck with the weather but could still catch a glimpse of Mt. Fuji. Overall definitely recommended, especialky since this tour is pretty laid back.

This was an excellent day. Mt Fuji was behind the clouds on the day of our trip but the views and visit to the lake made it a worthwhile trip. I would definitely recommend this activity.

We had a great day in the mountains. Ike was our wonderful guide. He was friendly helpful and had everything well coordinated and organised. It’s a beautiful area with mountains and lakes, definitely worth going out of Tokyo for a day.

Nobody can promise it. Fuji is clear on roughly a third of days, most often on winter mornings, and from June to September it is in cloud more often than not. The tour runs regardless and the lakes, the pagoda and the ropeway are planned to be worth the day without the summit. There is no refund for cloud.
We confirm your booking with the operator before we treat it as final, and we need at least one day's notice. Once it is confirmed you get the meeting point, the time and a contact number for the day. If the operator cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

Only during the official season, roughly early July to early September — exact dates are announced each year per route. Outside it the mountain huts close, and climbing becomes a serious mountaineering proposition rather than a hike. A mandatory climbing fee and a daily cap now apply on the Yoshida route, with the other routes following. Full detail in our guide to climbing Mount Fuji.
Counterintuitively, winter — the cold, dry air gives the clearest views, while humid summer haze often hides the mountain entirely. That means the climbing season is also the worst viewing season. Where and when to look is covered in our Mount Fuji viewpoints guide.
An Odakyu pass covering the whole Hakone loop — Tozan railway, cable car, ropeway, Lake Ashi boats and buses — for less than buying the legs separately. How the loop works and which direction to travel it is in getting around Hakone.
It varies. Many traditional baths still refuse tattoos, some now allow them with cover stickers, and a private bath (kashikiri) is the reliable workaround. Bathing etiquette and how to find tattoo-friendly options are in our Hakone onsen guide.
It was listed in 2013 for its influence on art, literature and pilgrimage — not for its geology. That is why the listing includes places like Oshino Hakkai and the Sengen shrines, not just the peak itself. Background in our climbing Mount Fuji guide.
Two days lets you do the loop without rushing and still soak properly in an onsen — a single day works but means moving constantly. Our Hakone 2-day itinerary maps it out hour by hour.
Most Hakone and Mt. Fuji private tours here are priced for the whole party, not per traveller — the operator is providing a vehicle and a guide, so a group of four pays the same as a couple. The exceptions are the group summit climbs, which are genuinely per person. Each tour page states which model applies.
