Full description

This is a 10-hour experience from Mount Fuji, built around Bus/coach, Kitaguchi-hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine and Oishi Park. It is run by シーアイティーエス・ジャパン株式会社, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

Mount Fuji is 3,776 metres, Japan's highest mountain and an active volcano that last erupted in 1707. Day tours from Tokyo go to the Fuji Five Lakes on its north side, about two hours away: Lake Kawaguchiko for the classic reflection view, Oshino Hakkai's spring-fed ponds, the Chureito Pagoda above Fujiyoshida with the mountain behind it, and often the Fuji Subaru Line to the 5th Station at 2,300 metres when the road is open, roughly April to November. The summit is climbable only in July and August. Fuji is visible on roughly a third of days and most often in winter mornings; from June to September it is hidden in cloud more often than not, and no operator can promise the view, so the lakes and the pagoda are planned as worth the day on their own.

The price covers Round-trip transportation from Tokyo and tour guide. It does not cover Self expenses, Travel insurance and Fuji lava stone teppanyaki steak lunch, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.

シーアイティーエス・ジャパン株式会社 sends the meeting point and time by email as soon as the booking is confirmed. We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with シーアイティーエス・ジャパン株式会社 before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

We were very fortunate to have a young, pretty, patient, friendly, responsive, and highly responsible tour guide, Miss Zhao leading us today to the Mount Fuji, who made the entire experience enjoyable and smooth. Keep up the good work.

Zanbus exceeded all our expectations. We had a timely pickup at a very convenient place literally outside the Marunouchi South Exit. Lucy was super helpful and answered all our questions! The bus was comfortable and had great A/C. I would definitely book with Zanbus again next time I visit the Mount Fuji of Japan.

We really enjoyed our time with this guided tour to see the Mount Fuji. We were part of a mixed tour group, where they had two guides, one who spoke Japanese and one who spoke English. We got good information about the tour and they helped us with recommendation for how best to experience the attractions. We went on a very busy day in the beginning of August, and the one‑way transfer took almost two hours. The guide kindly extended our time to be able to enjoy the stunning views of Mount Fuji.

David, our guide, did an outstanding job in preparation for our trip and throughout the journey. We very much enjoyed the tour and the insights provided by him. We definitely would recommend visiting Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine — it feels so mystical, uncrowded and well preserved. (Trip end of July). The bus ride takes some time, but it's worth the drive.

This tour made getting to the Fuji easy and took all the stress away, The tour guide is supportive and her English is great. The Aakuraya Park is a bit crowded on Friday!but we had a blast and the bus driver was just on time, had a smooth and lovely ride, would book again if I return.

It is great opportunity to visit the Mount Fuji of Japan and reach its remote part. Our guide Ally contacted us the day before with important info about the tour and answered to my questions. So if you want to visit this destination without any pricy excursions or want to do it solo this is perfect choice.

Great experience from start to finish! The team sent handy trip reminders on WhatsApp, and the pickup spot at Marunouchi South is super well-located and easy to find. The tour bus was spotlessly clean, plus we loved grabbing all kinds of exclusive limited drinks at Fuji Lawson . Our guide Lucy was attentive and full of knowledge — she told us so many interesting stories about Mount Fuji and gave brilliant advice on the best sightseeing routes. Would absolutely recommend this tour!

This was the most amazing trip that I had during my holiday in Japan. I booked it with the Zanbus tour and we were very lucky having Mr Brown as a guide. We’ve got enriched with a lot of informations that we didn’t know. I was impressed by his English. He was very engaged and he looked after us all the time. I hope I will find again tous guides like his because he made better our trip to the Mount Fuji. Many thanks!

Nobody can promise it. Fuji is clear on roughly a third of days, most often on winter mornings, and from June to September it is in cloud more often than not. The tour runs regardless and the lakes, the pagoda and the ropeway are planned to be worth the day without the summit. There is no refund for cloud.
We confirm your booking with the operator before we treat it as final, and we need at least one day's notice. Once it is confirmed you get the meeting point, the time and a contact number for the day. If the operator cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

The duration of the Mt Fuji and Arakura Park and Lake Kawaguchi and Oishi Park is typically 10 hours. We recommend arriving 15 minutes before the scheduled start time for a smooth check-in. For most experiences, we highly recommend an early morning start. This allows you to avoid the midday heat, bypass the largest crowds, and capture the best lighting for photography. Your guide can advise on the optimal timing based on the season and specific attractions included.

Only during the official season, roughly early July to early September — exact dates are announced each year per route. Outside it the mountain huts close, and climbing becomes a serious mountaineering proposition rather than a hike. A mandatory climbing fee and a daily cap now apply on the Yoshida route, with the other routes following. Full detail in our guide to climbing Mount Fuji.
Counterintuitively, winter — the cold, dry air gives the clearest views, while humid summer haze often hides the mountain entirely. That means the climbing season is also the worst viewing season. Where and when to look is covered in our Mount Fuji viewpoints guide.
An Odakyu pass covering the whole Hakone loop — Tozan railway, cable car, ropeway, Lake Ashi boats and buses — for less than buying the legs separately. How the loop works and which direction to travel it is in getting around Hakone.
It varies. Many traditional baths still refuse tattoos, some now allow them with cover stickers, and a private bath (kashikiri) is the reliable workaround. Bathing etiquette and how to find tattoo-friendly options are in our Hakone onsen guide.
It was listed in 2013 for its influence on art, literature and pilgrimage — not for its geology. That is why the listing includes places like Oshino Hakkai and the Sengen shrines, not just the peak itself. Background in our climbing Mount Fuji guide.
Two days lets you do the loop without rushing and still soak properly in an onsen — a single day works but means moving constantly. Our Hakone 2-day itinerary maps it out hour by hour.
Most Hakone and Mt. Fuji private tours here are priced for the whole party, not per traveller — the operator is providing a vehicle and a guide, so a group of four pays the same as a couple. The exceptions are the group summit climbs, which are genuinely per person. Each tour page states which model applies.
