Full description

This is a 10-hour experience from Mount Fuji, built around Bus/coach, Hakone Shrine and Owakudani. It is run by Tour Easy, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

Mount Fuji is 3,776 metres, Japan's highest mountain and an active volcano that last erupted in 1707. Day tours from Tokyo go to the Fuji Five Lakes on its north side, about two hours away: Lake Kawaguchiko for the classic reflection view, Oshino Hakkai's spring-fed ponds, the Chureito Pagoda above Fujiyoshida with the mountain behind it, and often the Fuji Subaru Line to the 5th Station at 2,300 metres when the road is open, roughly April to November. The summit is climbable only in July and August. Fuji is visible on roughly a third of days and most often in winter mornings; from June to September it is hidden in cloud more often than not, and no operator can promise the view, so the lakes and the pagoda are planned as worth the day on their own.

The price covers Vehicle with A/C, All taxes, English, Japanese and Chinese speaking Tour guide and Driver. It does not cover Food and drinks and Personal expenses, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.

Tour Easy sends the meeting point and time by email as soon as the booking is confirmed. We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with Tour Easy before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

The trip was wonderful! Our guide, Wanting, was very kind and explained everything clearly. The route was well planned, so we could enjoy Mount Fuji, Hakone, and Enoshima comfortably. Wanting made the whole experience even more enjoyable with her warm and caring attitude.

This was a wonderful day out of Tokyo. Wanting Rachel) is a wonderful guide. She took good care of the group, provided us with excellent explanations about the various sites we visited. She is also fluent in French and was happy to clarify anything for me. It is the best Tour I have had in Japan so far. Thank you Wanting for making this day special.

Tony, our tourguide, was very professional and funny at times. He knew a lot about the places we visited. Lucky to be in a small group of 11 people only, went smooth overall.

Nice tour to see the countryside, temple, lake, volcano, island, and try the black eggs and tadty Japanese food. Unfortunately, Mt Fuji didn't show, so will need to get back again!

It was a good day trip, such a shame that the weather wasn’t great so we couldn’t see much. I would want to go another time & see how lucky I get

Technically it was fine but this is simply a person that drives you around- didn’t give us one historical fact about anything. Just bought the tickets for us and sent us to figure it all out during the activity. You get what you pay for. Guide was nice and I felt safe just thought it would be more structured. Good for being driven from place to place and that’s it.

I was disappointed to realize that we did not have a proper guide who will explain everything to us. Driver was good and transportation was ok although I was a bit stressed because I did nit know what to expect. It was written that we would have a guide and not only a driver. It was also very stressful to find a driver in the morning. That should d be better organized

Nobody can promise it. Fuji is clear on roughly a third of days, most often on winter mornings, and from June to September it is in cloud more often than not. The tour runs regardless and the lakes, the pagoda and the ropeway are planned to be worth the day without the summit. There is no refund for cloud.

Only during the official season, roughly early July to early September — exact dates are announced each year per route. Outside it the mountain huts close, and climbing becomes a serious mountaineering proposition rather than a hike. A mandatory climbing fee and a daily cap now apply on the Yoshida route, with the other routes following. Full detail in our guide to climbing Mount Fuji.
Counterintuitively, winter — the cold, dry air gives the clearest views, while humid summer haze often hides the mountain entirely. That means the climbing season is also the worst viewing season. Where and when to look is covered in our Mount Fuji viewpoints guide.
An Odakyu pass covering the whole Hakone loop — Tozan railway, cable car, ropeway, Lake Ashi boats and buses — for less than buying the legs separately. How the loop works and which direction to travel it is in getting around Hakone.
It varies. Many traditional baths still refuse tattoos, some now allow them with cover stickers, and a private bath (kashikiri) is the reliable workaround. Bathing etiquette and how to find tattoo-friendly options are in our Hakone onsen guide.
It was listed in 2013 for its influence on art, literature and pilgrimage — not for its geology. That is why the listing includes places like Oshino Hakkai and the Sengen shrines, not just the peak itself. Background in our climbing Mount Fuji guide.
Two days lets you do the loop without rushing and still soak properly in an onsen — a single day works but means moving constantly. Our Hakone 2-day itinerary maps it out hour by hour.
Most Hakone and Mt. Fuji private tours here are priced for the whole party, not per traveller — the operator is providing a vehicle and a guide, so a group of four pays the same as a couple. The exceptions are the group summit climbs, which are genuinely per person. Each tour page states which model applies.
