Full description

This is a 10-hour experience from Mount Fuji, built around Bus/coach, Lawson Fujikawaguchiko Town hall and Arakurayama Sengen Park. It is run by Japan Vision Tour, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

Mount Fuji is 3,776 metres, Japan's highest mountain and an active volcano that last erupted in 1707. Day tours from Tokyo go to the Fuji Five Lakes on its north side, about two hours away: Lake Kawaguchiko for the classic reflection view, Oshino Hakkai's spring-fed ponds, the Chureito Pagoda above Fujiyoshida with the mountain behind it, and often the Fuji Subaru Line to the 5th Station at 2,300 metres when the road is open, roughly April to November. The summit is climbable only in July and August. Fuji is visible on roughly a third of days and most often in winter mornings; from June to September it is hidden in cloud more often than not, and no operator can promise the view, so the lakes and the pagoda are planned as worth the day on their own.

The price covers bilingual guide, Comfortable vehicle with A/C, Round-trip transfers to and from the meet up location and All taxes. It does not cover Meals and beverages and Other personal expenses, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.

Japan Vision Tour sends the meeting point and time by email as soon as the booking is confirmed. We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with Japan Vision Tour before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

Tim , our tour guide was so organized . He communicated with us prior to our trip via what’s up . He is knowledgeable , helpful and very considerate. Eventhough we haven’t seen the Mt fuji because of the weather but the trip is worth the price . We were so happy , glad we decided to get this Tour . we will definitely do it again .

Taiyo our guide with his jokes was very sweet. We got to see the whole mountain in 2 of the spots and after it hid behind the clouds! But that’s fine, we had a great time. Our guide also had a camera and took several pictures of everyone (no charge!) and shared them in the WhatsApp group chat. It’s best to wear comfortable shoes (not flip flops) because there’s an optional hike and some stair climbing. I wore jeans and snickers and was fine. 100% recommended, great value for money, it’s probably the cheapest Fuji-photo spot-tour you can find. Thank you Taiyo!

The whole trip was amazing we got to see Mt Fuji in our first visit to Japan so we were lucky. Penguin was a great guide and explained things to us as we went through. He even helped plan each spot in a way that we can cover it within time to be back on bus.

The experience was very nice, the places visited are recommended for a trip out of the city. Mount Fuji wasn't visible, but it was a beautiful day anyway! The guide was knowledgeable and very friendly.

Great tour and thorough itinerary! Yuan was an excellent tour guide, informative, and kept the whole group on time throughout the day. Directions to the meeting point were easy to follow from the WhatsApp group. Yuan also ordered ice cream ahead for the group at Oishi Park so we were able to enjoy ice cream and the view of Fuji without waiting in the long line! I also appreciated the tour’s flexibility to cancel policies as we wanted to make sure the visibility of Mt. Fuji would be good.

The tour was amazing! Our group was very lucky to see Mt Fuji clearly and the weather was amazing. Our guide, Yuan, was very knowledgeable and funny. You can tell she enjoys what she does. She made sure that we had the best experience possible and explained everything clearly. 10/10 would recommend for anyone. As a solo traveler, I was scared to do this at first but do not regret it one bit.

This was the one of the best day trips to Mount Fuji that we’ve taken. We got to see beautiful views of Mt. Fuji and cherry blossoms! Our guide Yuan was the best, she was very engaging and knowledgeable. The bus ride was very comfortable as well. The driver got us to and from the stop points safely. I would highly recommend this tour.

Nobody can promise it. Fuji is clear on roughly a third of days, most often on winter mornings, and from June to September it is in cloud more often than not. The tour runs regardless and the lakes, the pagoda and the ropeway are planned to be worth the day without the summit. There is no refund for cloud.

Only during the official season, roughly early July to early September — exact dates are announced each year per route. Outside it the mountain huts close, and climbing becomes a serious mountaineering proposition rather than a hike. A mandatory climbing fee and a daily cap now apply on the Yoshida route, with the other routes following. Full detail in our guide to climbing Mount Fuji.
Counterintuitively, winter — the cold, dry air gives the clearest views, while humid summer haze often hides the mountain entirely. That means the climbing season is also the worst viewing season. Where and when to look is covered in our Mount Fuji viewpoints guide.
An Odakyu pass covering the whole Hakone loop — Tozan railway, cable car, ropeway, Lake Ashi boats and buses — for less than buying the legs separately. How the loop works and which direction to travel it is in getting around Hakone.
It varies. Many traditional baths still refuse tattoos, some now allow them with cover stickers, and a private bath (kashikiri) is the reliable workaround. Bathing etiquette and how to find tattoo-friendly options are in our Hakone onsen guide.
It was listed in 2013 for its influence on art, literature and pilgrimage — not for its geology. That is why the listing includes places like Oshino Hakkai and the Sengen shrines, not just the peak itself. Background in our climbing Mount Fuji guide.
Two days lets you do the loop without rushing and still soak properly in an onsen — a single day works but means moving constantly. Our Hakone 2-day itinerary maps it out hour by hour.
Most Hakone and Mt. Fuji private tours here are priced for the whole party, not per traveller — the operator is providing a vehicle and a guide, so a group of four pays the same as a couple. The exceptions are the group summit climbs, which are genuinely per person. Each tour page states which model applies.
