Full description

This is a 9-hour experience from Nagoya, built around Bus/coach, Takayama Old Town and Shirakawa-go. It is run by JRT Group, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

Nagoya is Japan's fourth city and the gateway to the Ghibli Park at Nagakute, opened in 2022 with timed tickets that sell out weeks ahead, to Nagashima Spa Land and its rollercoasters, and to Inuyama, whose castle is one of the twelve original keeps. Nagoya Castle's golden dolphins and the Toyota Commemorative Museum are the city's own sights, and hitsumabushi grilled eel and miso katsu are its food. The Ise Grand Shrine, Shinto's most sacred site, rebuilt every twenty years, is 90 minutes south.

The price covers Transportation from Nagoya to Takayama and Shirakawa-go, tour guide and Shirakawa-go Light-Up event. It does not cover All meals and personal expenses, Personal travel and accident insurance, Luggage storage fees and Observation Deck Ticket during Shirakawa-go Light-up Period, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.

JRT Group sends the meeting point and time by email as soon as the booking is confirmed. We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with JRT Group before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

The guide was amazing. Speaking in Japanese and English very professional. Maybe the vehicle can feel a bit old but does the job! I recommend!

This was an excellent way to see both Takayama and Shirakawago in a single day. Guide was friendly and polite, but he provided a brief description of Takayama before we parted ways. In Shirakawago, there was an option to join the guide on a walk but we chose to go our own way.

Tour guide was very wonderful lady, who deeply introduces the background, history and culture of each stop point in Hida Takeyama and Shirakawa-go Gassho-zukuri Village. She bilingually explains all of them in details makes us impressible. My family and I very enjoy this one-day tour a lot. Wish have another tour here in the future.

The Shirakawa-go Gassho Villaga & Takayama Tour was excellent. We enjoyed the explanation from the tour guide. When we entered the Shirakawa-go Gassho Village its was very great to see the beautiful villages.

The tour was not a guided tour. There was only one person that spoke english and the only thing that she said was about the timetable and where to take photos. Nothing about the city, its history or anything else. So disappointing. Also, the driver rushed a lot. He was such a bad driver. The period that we stayed in takayama was too short. Shirakawago is a great and beautiful place. I cannot call this travel as a guided tour, only as a transport to Takayana and Shirakawago.
