Full description

This is a 3-hour experience in Tokyo. It is run by Tokyo Bike Bliss, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

Tokyo is the largest city on earth by metropolitan population and it is best seen as a set of neighbourhoods on the Yamanote loop line rather than one place. Asakusa has Senso-ji, the city's oldest temple, and Nakamise's shopping lane; Shibuya has the scramble crossing and Shinjuku the bars of Golden Gai and Omoide Yokocho; Harajuku is Takeshita Street and Meiji Shrine's forest; Akihabara is electronics and anime; Ginza is department stores and sushi counters. Everything runs on time and the last trains are around midnight. Cash still matters in small restaurants, an IC card covers every train and bus, and tipping is not done anywhere.

Pickup is offered from Nagatachō, Ueno, Suido, Toranomon, Nishinippori and Akihabara; the exact spot and time are agreed with Tokyo Bike Bliss once the booking is confirmed, and the option you choose sets whether transport is included.

The price covers Hotel Start, E-bike, Helmet, Safety Instruction and Insurance. It does not cover Food and Beverages, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.

Tokyo Bike Bliss sends the meeting point and time by email as soon as the booking is confirmed. We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with Tokyo Bike Bliss before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

We had a fantastic morning with Kazuma. He showed us sights of Tokyo that we would never have found on our own. From the Tokyo Tower to the Imperial Palace and one of the original islands and so much more. He was really knowledgeable and very polite and courteous (as is everyone in Japan). Such great memories made. Thank you Kazuma - Nick and Carrie Sheen.

This was a wonderful experience with a wonderful guide. We had never ridden e-bikes before but Kazuma explained everything we needed to know and we went at a pace that suited us. We saw the sights we wanted to see plus some Kazuma recommend. He was very knowledgeable and professional whilst also being kind, patient and funny!! We thoroughly enjoyed his tour and his company, and we couldn't have asked fir a better start to our Tokyo visit.

We spent a magical morning with Kazuma! He offered us a customized tour based on our interests and on his life story. Not only did he answer our many questions, he more importantly shared his beautiful culture with us. His tour took us to unique spots that are not on a typical tourist’s path. Because of that we were blessed with interactions with local people operating family run businesses ! There are many highlights to our morning, but those that stand out the most for me were Kazuma himself, the lively lady making Sakura sweets, available only at this special time, the gentleman in the shop

Don’t miss the opportunity to tour with Kazuma and experience all he has to offer, which seems limitless. He’s one of the kindness and most sincere human beings we’ve ever met. His knowledge of Japan - both old and new - along with his clear and warm communication, flexibility, skill as a bicycle guide and photographer, and warmth made our tour exhilarating and the best we’ve ever had. Just riding safely through the busy streets of Tokyo with someone who emphasized both safety and fun, would have made the day. Doing it with someone who so clearly loves his job and every client he guides, lifte

Kazuma-san is the best tour guide ever!! He took us to beautiful places and explained everything from ancient history till today. We visited old palaces, amazing views over the river and fashion streets. Whenever we come back we definitely book this tour again. Thank you for showing us Tokyo. Love Peggy, Fred, Inge and Pieter 💞

Our recent bike tour in Tokyo was exceptional. Our guide was unfailingly kind, remarkably knowledgeable, and brought a touch of humor that made the experience both engaging and enjoyable. His ability to share meaningful historical and cultural context throughout the ride elevated the tour significantly. We were also grateful for the beautiful photos he took for us along the way—an unexpected and much-appreciated addition that captured the experience perfectly. One of the greatest strengths of this tour was the opportunity to experience areas and aspects of Tokyo that we would not have encounte

Kazuma was a superb guide. Starting from our hotel rather than having to navigate to a meeting point was very convenient. Kazuma emphasized safety above all else which we greatly appreciated. Thank you Kazuma for such an informative and enjoyable 3 hours! Best, Mark, Jill & Nick.

Kazuma was excellent as a guide and cyclist who knows his history and his way round the city. Our tour was a perfect way to explore many aspects of Tokyo. I wish we had booked more days to see the rest.

Great tour guide. Kazuma met us at our hotel, and from the start was just perfect, knowledgeable, friendly and gave us great insight into a part of the city we would never have discovered on our own. The bikes were awesome, easy to ride. Would highly recommend.

Kazuma was a wonderful guide- informative, friendly, patient and safety conscious. Our family of 4 really enjoyed our trip around Shinjuku and shibuya on our first day in Tokyo. This is such a cool way to cover some distance but be able to stop along the way.

Late March to early April for cherry blossom, or late October to early December for autumn colour and the clearest skies. Contrary to most advice, October is Tokyo's wettest month (234.8 mm), not the June rainy season. Full month-by-month figures are in our best time to visit Tokyo guide.
Get a Suica or Pasmo IC card and budget ¥1,000–¥1,400 a day. Do not buy a JR Pass for a Tokyo-only trip — it costs ¥50,000 and excludes Tokyo Metro and Toei entirely. Note JR East raised Tokyo fares on 14 March 2026, so Metro is now cheaper than JR on several routes. See getting around Tokyo.
Shibuya Sky releases tickets only 14 days ahead at 00:00 JST — it cannot be booked months in advance. teamLab Borderless tickets drop at 12:00 JST on the 1st of each month. Our 3-day Tokyo itinerary lists every booking deadline.
Yes — a Japanese licence or an International Driving Permit issued under the 1949 Geneva Convention. 1968 Vienna Convention permits are not valid in Japan. Licences from Switzerland, Germany, France, Belgium, Monaco and Taiwan need an official JAF translation instead. Arrange it before you fly; see the Tokyo go-kart guide.
Yes — the highway bus from Busta Shinjuku to Kawaguchiko takes about 1h 45m for ¥2,200. But manage expectations: Fuji is visible on 84% of December mornings and only 23% of July mornings, and cloud builds through the day, so go early. Details in our Mount Fuji day trip guide.
Edomae sushi (the Tokyo Bay style, where curing began as a workaround for having no refrigeration), monjayaki — a runny griddle dish unique to Tokyo with 80+ specialists on Tsukishima's Monja Street — and soba. Also worth knowing: Tsukiji Outer Market never closed; only the wholesale auction moved to Toyosu. See the Tokyo food guide.
The crossing itself takes about ninety seconds. What makes it worth an evening is one street back — Nonbei Yokocho, a lantern-lit alley of tiny bars a minute away that almost nobody who photographs the scramble walks into. Note street drinking is banned in the area 18:00–05:00 year-round, though the ordinance carries no fine. See the Shibuya Crossing guide.
Yes, some. Japan's cashless ratio reached 58% in 2025, so over 40% of payments are still cash — and card refusal is most likely at small independent izakaya, ramen ticket machines and market stalls. Tipping is not expected anywhere.
