This is a 1.5-hour experience in Tokyo. It is run by GLOBA Inc., an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

Tokyo is the largest city on earth by metropolitan population and it is best seen as a set of neighbourhoods on the Yamanote loop line rather than one place. Asakusa has Senso-ji, the city's oldest temple, and Nakamise's shopping lane; Shibuya has the scramble crossing and Shinjuku the bars of Golden Gai and Omoide Yokocho; Harajuku is Takeshita Street and Meiji Shrine's forest; Akihabara is electronics and anime; Ginza is department stores and sushi counters. Everything runs on time and the last trains are around midnight. Cash still matters in small restaurants, an IC card covers every train and bus, and tipping is not done anywhere.

Koume delivered an exceptionally detailed, friendly, and engaging tea ceremony, treating every guest with equal respect and warmth. She quickly established a wonderful rapport with everyone, creating an atmosphere that was both calming and educational. Koume’s extensive knowledge of matcha tea gave me a newfound appreciation and respect for its history, preparation, and traditions. Dressing in traditional attire made the experience even more special, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in this beautiful cultural experience. A truly memorable experience that I would highly recommend.

It was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. It was very well organised and everybody was so friendly. The only negative was we did not know in advance that we could stay in the kimono till 6 pm. If we knew that we would of planned our day around that and enjoyed spending the day dressed up.

Would definitely recommend this experience!! So professional and made me feel so beautiful!! You have the kimono until 6pm so the earlier you book the more pictures you can get! Matcha experience was wonderful. Great location in central Shinjuku and next to a shrine!!

The tea ceremony was AMAZING!!! I learned history, drank matcha, and learned some Japanese. It was very meditative and zen. The match was delicious. They made me feel beautiful in my traditional kimono.

My partner and I had a really wonderful time here. The tea ceremony was informative, we got to walk around the shrines and take pictures in our kimonos. The staff were so friendly and helpful (I couldn’t choose there was a wide selection). Highly recommend as a must do activity if you’re ever in Tokyo
