Full description
This is a 2-hour experience in Tokyo. It is run by Baba Ramen, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Tokyo is the largest city on earth by metropolitan population and it is best seen as a set of neighbourhoods on the Yamanote loop line rather than one place. Asakusa has Senso-ji, the city's oldest temple, and Nakamise's shopping lane; Shibuya has the scramble crossing and Shinjuku the bars of Golden Gai and Omoide Yokocho; Harajuku is Takeshita Street and Meiji Shrine's forest; Akihabara is electronics and anime; Ginza is department stores and sushi counters. Everything runs on time and the last trains are around midnight. Cash still matters in small restaurants, an IC card covers every train and bus, and tipping is not done anywhere.
The price covers Intro: Full Breakdown & History of Ramen, Bone breaking: smashing bones in half for both clear and, Noodle segment: making your own noodles from scratch, Gyoza making: learn from ramen chefs and Toppings making - Indulge in the variety of Chashu. It does not cover Transportation/shuttle, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.
Baba Ramen sends the meeting point and time by email as soon as the booking is confirmed. We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with Baba Ramen before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

The staff was down to earth. I got to meet the owner. they took good care of some vegetarians, which I appreciate their inclusiveness. The ramen was stellar. I had the shio broth which was so refreshing. Andy and his team are top notch professionals and I would book this again. We not only made our ramen noodles, we learned how to get the lattice effect on our gyoza. I got to make the gyoza filling, others chopped vegetables, made sauces, etc. Four hours flew by. it's a 3 minute walk from Meguro Fudōson which is absolutely beautiful and tranquil. don't miss this tour!
WOW! 5 Stars! 10/10 All I can say is DO THIS ACTIVITY. Eric, Jay and Leo were an awesome group of guides! This was amazing and even better than expected. We had a great time!
Whenever I travel, I try and take a cooking class. Most classes are interesting, but this one was really eye opening and made me inspired to buy some equipment and try this at home. Prior to this, I tried making making ramen several times with highly rated recipes online but they never taste right. This class showed me everything I was doing wrong. Ramen making is no joke - you learn that behind the bowl of ramen is probably a week's preparation - from the stock, (which typically takes 3 days (recipe included in book) but Ramen Baba chef showed us how to do it in 4 hours with an Instant Pot! -
This cooking class is 100% worth the cost. You go home with a full recipe book with everything you learn in class, many little souvenirs, and great memories. Most of all, the chef was very knowledgeable and I learned a ton (while having lots of fun).
It was a good experience. Definitely would have liked a smaller group though. Even though we already had a small group of 8. A little more 1-1 would have made the experience seem more like learning how to vs just helping the chef make it. But all loved it, definitely recommend
Fantastic very hands on and fun. Eric and his team were delightful. I have a new appreciation of ramen and the gyozu were delicious I will be trying those at home
Really authentic and professional atmosphere. The recipe book received is top quality and will help to recreate the experience at home.
It was an highlight on our Japan trip and exactly what I was looking for. The team was awesome. They explained everything to detail. It was very interesting, hearing about the science of making a ramen bowl and the whole experience was just loads of fun. Thank you all!
super zkušenost výroby domácího rámenu jako z restaurace a výborných gyoza. Můžu jen doporučit! 🔥🇯🇵
What a great time. Jay and Eric were awesome. We learned all about making ramen and gyoza in a very hands on and fun environment. This was exactly what we were looking for - just a bit more involved, cooking from scratch, and a lot of laughs. And we got to eat.
Very very good experience, very happy for it!!! The staffs were so friendly and energetic!!! Thanks for everything 🥰🥰🥰🥰😍
