This is a 2-hour experience in Tokyo. It is run by Alva Japan Tours🇯🇵, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

Tokyo is the largest city on earth by metropolitan population and it is best seen as a set of neighbourhoods on the Yamanote loop line rather than one place. Asakusa has Senso-ji, the city's oldest temple, and Nakamise's shopping lane; Shibuya has the scramble crossing and Shinjuku the bars of Golden Gai and Omoide Yokocho; Harajuku is Takeshita Street and Meiji Shrine's forest; Akihabara is electronics and anime; Ginza is department stores and sushi counters. Everything runs on time and the last trains are around midnight. Cash still matters in small restaurants, an IC card covers every train and bus, and tipping is not done anywhere.

The food was 5/5! The hotpot pictures depicted on the page were extremely accurate, and everything was delicious, like really well-done. It is a large serving of food. The sumo wrestling was good - interesting with lots of facts provided by the host (who spoke clear and perfect English) and the wrestlers. It is not really a lot of actual wrestling/ matches. It is more of training demonstrations and crowd participation. It is pretty brief, but they allocate plenty of time for participation from the audience which is fun and photos after. However, for the price, it is great deal - recommend it.

Not only was the educational and interesting, the workshop was also very funny. The hot pot lunch was delicious and I highly recommend this workshop and lunch to anyone who visits Tokyo for the first time. Thank you for a great time and experience!

We came as a group of five with our kids, and this was easily one of our favorite experiences in Tokyo! From beginning to end, it was entertaining, funny, interactive, and genuinely fascinating. They taught us about sumo, its history, traditions, and training, but they made the entire experience incredibly fun. Everyone got involved—from the kids to the adults! We learned some of the actual training techniques, participated ourselves, and even got the chance to wrestle the sumo wrestlers, which was hilarious and such a memorable experience. 😂 Afterward, we had a much more personal lunch with t

we had such an amazing time! the host and the rest of the staff were great. we enjoyed the live show and the mini “tournament” they did with the attendants. highly recommend it. two small kiddos and a teenager, kept everyone entertained. the food part of it was perfect timing for lunch. the food was delicious and the atmosphere was great.
