Full description
This is a 10-hour experience from Tokyo, built around Bus/coach, Nikko Toshogu and Lake Chūzenji. It is run by H.I.S. Co Ltd(TIC), an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Nikko, two hours north of Tokyo, is Toshogu, the mausoleum of Tokugawa Ieyasu, the shogun who unified Japan in 1603: the most elaborately carved and gilded shrine in the country, with the three wise monkeys and the sleeping cat among its carvings, in a cedar forest. Beyond the town the road climbs the Irohazaka hairpins to Lake Chuzenji and Kegon Falls, 97 metres, at their best in autumn colour in mid to late October. It is a long day trip and the shrine alone takes two hours.
The price covers Licensed English Speaking Guide, Air-conditioned bus, Entry tickets to Nikko Toshogu Shrine and Lunch. It does not cover Hotel pickup and drop-off and Drinks, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.
Robert Indiana Sculpture: "LOVE". We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with H.I.S. Co Ltd(TIC) before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

Traveler Reviews
We had a lovely guide named Kay, who told us a lot of information about the history. It was very fun and interesting to listen to her, and she helped us make the most out of the day. Nikko is a must-see, and this tour is a great way to experience it!
The visited object, the tour guide and the driver were exceptional! Thank you! Highly recommend!
Vielen herzlichen Dank liebe Mai!
It was a fantastic trip. Our guide, Yoshio, was very fluent in English and entertainingly explained a lot about Nikko, as well as various topics about Japanese culture, history, and even modern times, and gave us tips in how to enjoy Tokyo. Furthermore, everything was excellently organized; there was plenty of time for each excursion, and he made sure no one got lost or was left behind. We also had a female bus driver who navigated the Irohazaka Slope route with ease and skill. I can highly recommend this trip
Il viaggio comodissimo, l'autista molto bravo. La guida è stata bravissima sempre presente ad aiutarci ci ha guidato e accompagnati sempre.
Belle excursion, le seul regret , en anglais, on aurait apprécié le français
Mia, our guide was perfect
It was a great day, our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. We were a small group and the whole trip never felt rushed. Minor feedback, the bus seats were a bit narrow and no charging outlets on the bus
