Full description

This is a 10-hour experience from Tokyo, built around Mt. Omuro, Izu Shaboten Zoo and Train. It is run by Leda Japan, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

Tokyo is the largest city on earth by metropolitan population and it is best seen as a set of neighbourhoods on the Yamanote loop line rather than one place. Asakusa has Senso-ji, the city's oldest temple, and Nakamise's shopping lane; Shibuya has the scramble crossing and Shinjuku the bars of Golden Gai and Omoide Yokocho; Harajuku is Takeshita Street and Meiji Shrine's forest; Akihabara is electronics and anime; Ginza is department stores and sushi counters. Everything runs on time and the last trains are around midnight. Cash still matters in small restaurants, an IC card covers every train and bus, and tipping is not done anywhere.

The price covers Roundtrip transportation from Tokyo, Air-conditioned vehicle, Multilingual guide and driver and Toll and parking fees. It does not cover Lunch, Omuro Mt. Ropeway ticket and Zoo tickets, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.

Leda Japan sends the meeting point and time by email as soon as the booking is confirmed. We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with Leda Japan before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

What a cool place! An adult return ticket will cost you 1000 Yen. Board the chair lift and enjoy the fun and the stunning views of the coast line, Mt Fuji and walk around the tip of an ancient volcano. Be early as there wait in line will be a long one.

We visited three locations: Mount Omuro, Izu Cactus Park, and Jogasaki Coast. The round trip from Izu took three hours each way, and traffic congestion took up a lot of our time. However, our driver, Ace Hao, was excellent and got us to our destinations safely. He was also polite and quick to respond to our questions.

A perfectly arranged day trip with a small group—great weather, beautiful scenery, and Mr. Gao drove smoothly and punctually. We happened to be visiting on Japan's public holiday, so the return journey was quite congested, but this is completely insignificant. To enjoy the coastal views, Mr. Gao deliberately chose a different coastal route back. He also shared some insightful information about the attractions along the way, allowing us not only to appreciate the stunning landscapes but also to learn interesting historical facts.

Seki was awesome! Gave us plenty of time to explore on our own and never felt rushed. He explained the instructions at every point clearly, so we were on time, and he was punctual in receiving us after each one.

I had a wonderful experience on this tour to Mount Omuro! The whole trip was well organized and enjoyable, and the scenery at Mount Omuro was absolutely beautiful and definitely worth visiting. I especially want to thank our tour guide, who was incredibly friendly, patient, and helpful throughout the day. Everything was explained clearly, and the guide always made sure everyone was comfortable and knew where to go. Their kindness and professionalism made the whole experience even more memorable. I really enjoyed the tour and would happily recommend it to anyone visiting the area. Thank you so

In one line "it was the best day trip of our entire trip". Mt. Omuro volcano was the most scenic and surreal experience for us. So happy that we booked a day trip for it as it would not have been easy for us to visit all these places on our way in a day. Jason was very polite, considerate and welcoming. The drive was so beautiful, comfortable and on time. We also got enough time to be at the spots and soak it all in :) Thanks again.

The customer service team patiently answered all our questions and was incredibly attentive. The itinerary was tight due to heavy traffic during the summer peak season. Our driver was very thoughtful; he introduced the sights we passed along the way and adjusted the schedule as needed. We visited the seaside and took the small train first, saving Mount Omuro—which requires queuing—for last; although it was crowded, the line moved quickly, and the time flew by as we chatted. Mount Omuro was absolutely stunning, offering a sense of vast openness; the layered view of the mountain, the sea, and th

Late March to early April for cherry blossom, or late October to early December for autumn colour and the clearest skies. Contrary to most advice, October is Tokyo's wettest month (234.8 mm), not the June rainy season. Full month-by-month figures are in our best time to visit Tokyo guide.
Get a Suica or Pasmo IC card and budget ¥1,000–¥1,400 a day. Do not buy a JR Pass for a Tokyo-only trip — it costs ¥50,000 and excludes Tokyo Metro and Toei entirely. Note JR East raised Tokyo fares on 14 March 2026, so Metro is now cheaper than JR on several routes. See getting around Tokyo.
Shibuya Sky releases tickets only 14 days ahead at 00:00 JST — it cannot be booked months in advance. teamLab Borderless tickets drop at 12:00 JST on the 1st of each month. Our 3-day Tokyo itinerary lists every booking deadline.
Yes — a Japanese licence or an International Driving Permit issued under the 1949 Geneva Convention. 1968 Vienna Convention permits are not valid in Japan. Licences from Switzerland, Germany, France, Belgium, Monaco and Taiwan need an official JAF translation instead. Arrange it before you fly; see the Tokyo go-kart guide.
Yes — the highway bus from Busta Shinjuku to Kawaguchiko takes about 1h 45m for ¥2,200. But manage expectations: Fuji is visible on 84% of December mornings and only 23% of July mornings, and cloud builds through the day, so go early. Details in our Mount Fuji day trip guide.
Edomae sushi (the Tokyo Bay style, where curing began as a workaround for having no refrigeration), monjayaki — a runny griddle dish unique to Tokyo with 80+ specialists on Tsukishima's Monja Street — and soba. Also worth knowing: Tsukiji Outer Market never closed; only the wholesale auction moved to Toyosu. See the Tokyo food guide.
The crossing itself takes about ninety seconds. What makes it worth an evening is one street back — Nonbei Yokocho, a lantern-lit alley of tiny bars a minute away that almost nobody who photographs the scramble walks into. Note street drinking is banned in the area 18:00–05:00 year-round, though the ordinance carries no fine. See the Shibuya Crossing guide.
Yes, some. Japan's cashless ratio reached 58% in 2025, so over 40% of payments are still cash — and card refusal is most likely at small independent izakaya, ramen ticket machines and market stalls. Tipping is not expected anywhere.
