This is a 1-hour experience in Tokyo. It is run by Japan Guide Stars, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

Tokyo is the largest city on earth by metropolitan population and it is best seen as a set of neighbourhoods on the Yamanote loop line rather than one place. Asakusa has Senso-ji, the city's oldest temple, and Nakamise's shopping lane; Shibuya has the scramble crossing and Shinjuku the bars of Golden Gai and Omoide Yokocho; Harajuku is Takeshita Street and Meiji Shrine's forest; Akihabara is electronics and anime; Ginza is department stores and sushi counters. Everything runs on time and the last trains are around midnight. Cash still matters in small restaurants, an IC card covers every train and bus, and tipping is not done anywhere.

We had a great time there. We started with the explanation of kintsugi history, then we chose our plate (we upgraded the plate for 5k ien). The whole workshop was really relaxing and we end up with an incredible souvenier from our trip. Everyone was really nice with us but I want to mention Mai in particular. Besides helping us during the workshop, she gave us recommendations of restaurants to try. I would definitely recommend this workshop!

We were 2 generations participating in this workshop, including a teenager and we enjoyed the activity a lot. The instructors show and explain, in English, and one young lady could also explain in German; and we do the activity ourselves. They are very patient and we finished with our brilliant :-) products, which we could then take with us. Very enjoyable time and experience!

I had a great time at the gold repair kintsugi workshop. I booked the workshop in the evening so the nice ceramics that I originally wanted to do weren’t there anymore. So you should book early. Our guide was very helpful. She explained to us how it is done and the purpose behind it. It’s a fun activity and you get to take a souvenir back home.
