This is a 2-hour experience from Tokyo, built around Meiji Jingu Gyoen, Big Torii and Consecrated Sake Barrels. It is run by Traveling Tokyo, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

Tokyo is the largest city on earth by metropolitan population and it is best seen as a set of neighbourhoods on the Yamanote loop line rather than one place. Asakusa has Senso-ji, the city's oldest temple, and Nakamise's shopping lane; Shibuya has the scramble crossing and Shinjuku the bars of Golden Gai and Omoide Yokocho; Harajuku is Takeshita Street and Meiji Shrine's forest; Akihabara is electronics and anime; Ginza is department stores and sushi counters. Everything runs on time and the last trains are around midnight. Cash still matters in small restaurants, an IC card covers every train and bus, and tipping is not done anywhere.

Isa was fantastic, the tour showed us so much more than what we would have understood or noticed had we visited on our own. Isa had amazing knowledge in the area and the history of the Emperor Meiji, Empress Shoken and what they did for Japan Highly recommend

We were late but the guide Simon was very attentive, kind and did explained us the bit we missed. My kids really enjoyed and at the end of the day they were telling me what they have learned from Simon. Nice guide and nice tour!!

I enjoyed the tour very much！Minori was amazing in terms of explaining Japanese history and culture concisely, some of which are totally new to me (Japanese), and also creating a fun atmosphere among the guests by her hospitality. I highly recommend this tour and thank you again.

Highly recommended! Our tour with Minori san was super excellent! She is a lovely and kind and care about us. The story about Shinto and rituals and history was also super interesting! The timing was perfect! Yes, it is summer but we feel at ease and it was a very enjoyable walk. Thank you so much once again and hope to see you again next time!

Loved the tour. Though it was 10 people, Minori kept everyone engaged and walked through the forest and shrine with interesting context and stories, but also keeping it simple! She helped us with all shrine related activities and was really cheerful throughout!
