Full description
This is a 8-hour experience from Tokyo, built around Takao 599 Museum, Mt Takao Monkey Park & Wildflower Garden and Mount Takao. It is run by Irie Tokyo Tours, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Tokyo is the largest city on earth by metropolitan population and it is best seen as a set of neighbourhoods on the Yamanote loop line rather than one place. Asakusa has Senso-ji, the city's oldest temple, and Nakamise's shopping lane; Shibuya has the scramble crossing and Shinjuku the bars of Golden Gai and Omoide Yokocho; Harajuku is Takeshita Street and Meiji Shrine's forest; Akihabara is electronics and anime; Ginza is department stores and sushi counters. Everything runs on time and the last trains are around midnight. Cash still matters in small restaurants, an IC card covers every train and bus, and tipping is not done anywhere.
The price covers Monkey Park Admission, Takao 599 Museum, Hachioji Ramen Lunch, Natural hot spring visit and Towels for hot spring. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.
Takaosanguchi Station. We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with Irie Tokyo Tours before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

Jordan was a very attentive guide. He constantly observed my condition while walking and adjusted the pace accordingly, suggesting breaks or slowing down whenever necessary. Whenever we reached a scenic spot, he explained its history and shared fascinating stories and legends. He managed the hiking pace very professionally and always let me know in advance when we were approaching a more challenging section, so I could be mentally prepared. The soba noodles we had for lunch were delicious, especially the flavorful mountain vegetables. The adorable little monkeys were also a delightful highligh
Jordan was an amazing guide! He took me on an incredible hike, and showed me so many amazing sights on the mountain. The onsen visit after was the perfect way to end the day. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!
Jordan was amazing: very friendly, approachable, fit & very knowledgeable. Jordan made our day on Mt Takao & the Hot spring. We saw Mount Fuji from the top of Mount Takao - which is very exciting. The vegi Ramen we had for lunch was so delicious - truly amazing! Exceed expectations by far. Recommend this 1-day trip wholeheartedly to anyone in Tokyo: so full of different experiences & immersing yourself in the life of the Japanese. Love it 👍👍👍
this was an amazing trip!! Jordan was extremely nice and answered my many questions! the onsen was so relaxing, and not too hot at around 40 degrees, and the cold spring at 20. the actual hike was so beautiful, and the temple and shrines were magnificent. I actually got the chance to see the monks walk by as well.
Amazing,,Jordan is fantastic, helpful, professional, simply the best.High recommend for everyone.
Was amazing,Jordan is excellent guide, very informative, kind, simply the best
Jordan was incredible from start to finish, was super accommodating and chilled. We had a great day out, would definitely recommend as a city break from Tokyo!
Our guide, Jordan, was fantastic! very knowledgeable and easy going. Highly recommend!
Jordan was a great guide for the day. He tailored the pace to the group and was very accommodating to our requests and questions. Overall a great day away from the hustle and noise of Tokyo
I cant rave about this experience enough! Ive been in japan for only 3 days but this knocked everything else I've done, so far, out of the park. The starting town is super quaint and beautiful and the tour Jordan took us on including breathtaking nature, architecture, and views. Jordan knew the mountain and shrines like the back of his hand, leave no questions unanswered. After working up an appetite, the ramen truly hits the spot and the shop owners r super friendly. Then ending with a soak in the beautiful hot spring revives you before your journey back. I would recommend this experience to
Absolutely amazing value for the amount of activities packed into one experience - a wonderful experience at that! Our guide, Jordan, was an extraordinary host. His calm demeanor made it easy for us to open up and ask questions, which he would reply with memorable stories/insightful answers. This was one of the best experiences we’ve done during our 1st visit to Japan. Aloha and mahalo nui loa, Jordan! - Andi & Nick
Jordan was amazing. Knowledgeable and curious, patient, and friendly with a “no rush” approach to everything we did as a small group. He even fetched GF food for me when I was unable to have the ramen at the top of the mountain, which my friend said was incredible. His story of creating a life in Japan is one of many twists and turns and certainly deepens his cultural paradigm and approach when guiding these trips. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend his expertise or to book another trip with him! Thank you! Dankjewel!!!
