Full description

This is a 2-hour experience in Tokyo, built around National Diet Building, Kokyogaien and Tokyo Station. It is run by Trip Port, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

Tokyo is the largest city on earth by metropolitan population and it is best seen as a set of neighbourhoods on the Yamanote loop line rather than one place. Asakusa has Senso-ji, the city's oldest temple, and Nakamise's shopping lane; Shibuya has the scramble crossing and Shinjuku the bars of Golden Gai and Omoide Yokocho; Harajuku is Takeshita Street and Meiji Shrine's forest; Akihabara is electronics and anime; Ginza is department stores and sushi counters. Everything runs on time and the last trains are around midnight. Cash still matters in small restaurants, an IC card covers every train and bus, and tipping is not done anywhere.

Our tour was scenic and interesting! Shun did a wonderful job leading six of us through the city on a busy afternoon. We loved the stories and historical details he shared with us, as well as the scenic photo stops. We would recommend the private tour to anyone who wants an active and memorable experience!

Shimon was a fun and knowledgeable guide who shared a lot of the history of Edo with us on our Imperial Palace tour. He even recommended some spots and destinations for us for the rest of our trip in Tokyo and took some great pictures of us. The Imperial Palace views were incredible in the morning rain. The bike ride was a great way to see a lot of the city on our first day in a short amount of time and get a wide sample of Tokyo.
