Full description
This is a 100-minute experience in Tokyo. It is run by Sushi Making Japan | Cooking Class in Japan, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Tokyo's wholesale fish market moved from Tsukiji to Toyosu in 2018, but the Tsukiji Outer Market, the lanes of shops and stalls around the old site, stayed and is where the food walks go: tamagoyaki on a stick, tuna cuts, uni, grilled scallops and knife shops, busiest from about 8:00 to 11:00 and closed on Sundays and some Wednesdays. The tuna auction itself is at Toyosu, watched from a viewing deck before 6:30 with an advance lottery. Sushi classes teach shari, the vinegared rice, and the hand pressure of nigiri; most run two to three hours and you eat what you make.
The price covers instructor and Ingredients of cooking class and meal. It does not cover Hotel pickup and drop-off, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.

This was such a fun experience, the crew was awesome and so friendly. Suchi was so yummy! I would definitely recommend you going if you visit japan! I love this!!!
This sushi-making class was honestly one of the highlights of our trip to Japan! The whole experience was absolutely amazing from beginning to end. The instructions were incredibly clear and easy to follow, even if you have never made sushi before. What made it really special, though, was how kind, patient and welcoming everyone was. They took the time to explain every step, helped us whenever we needed it, and made the whole experience so much fun and relaxed. We learned so much, laughed a lot, and of course got to enjoy the sushi we made at the end! It felt like much more than just a cooking
Great experience through and through. From having a really nice and knowledgeable instructor guiding us though the whole process, to tasting the finished result, the whole experience felt really rewarding!
This was a realky fun afternoon, where we learned about sushi making and the history of sushi and then got to make it and then eat it. The 3 hosts were good fun and helpful and gave clear instructions that we all could follow. We then got to est what we made at the end!
We had fun and some laughs, learning how to make both sushi rolls and sushimi. Then enjoyed eating them
We had a great time with a really fun and interactive crew! And the sushi was easy enough to make with the instructions and the taste was great as well! We highly enjoyed and recommend!
Great experience! Everyone was so kind, funny and helpful!
nice and small group, had a fun time learning about the history of sushi, then making it and eating it. I liked that we learnt to make two types , maki and nigiri which are the two main things we love to eat! the ladies were great teachers and assistants. The beer was perfectly cold beer (you can purchase as a separate cost). My son and I had a great time.
Amazing tutorial, and fantastic quality food. Was a good challenge, ended up being a bit more complex than I thought but the guides did a great job of educating. Very friendly overall. The fish was absolutely incredible and so tasty!
The experience was really fun and interactive! Oy oy oy!
