This is a 4-hour experience from Tokyo, built around Ryōgoku Edo NOREN, Ekō-in and Ryogoku Kokugikan. It is run by AMIGO TOURS JAPAN GK, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

Tokyo is the largest city on earth by metropolitan population and it is best seen as a set of neighbourhoods on the Yamanote loop line rather than one place. Jorge was our guy and he was incredible!’ Gave us a wonderful rundown on the history of Sumo and I learned so much. He gave us our options about staying with the tour or breaking off to the stadium, which was nice for my husband who can’t stand or walk too much. We had main seats and this was an absolute check off our list. My biggest regret is I did not spend more time looking at merch!

I loved the explanation, George was super good at making us understand what was going on. He really took time and sat which each of us to answer the questions. I find the tour super expensive though, given that in the ticket we got it says 25€ or so.. I understand the organization and the guide.. But the difference is a bit too high. The experience is still worth it and I would do it again but like this it feels a bit like taking advantage of the tourist.

We loved the activity in itself, what a great moment to take part in the Grand Sumo tournament. Not to forget about our guide, Lily, full of energy and very friendly. Always there to answer questions and proactively giving useful information. If you are not lucky to get tickets for the tournament by yourself, this remains a very good option (despite the high price compared to original ticket price). Thank you again Lily!

Expensive but if you want to see Grand Sumo as an American and struck out through the regular ticket purchase method, these guys are totally legit and professional. Their communication is clear and precise both through email and their app, which is a great resource for finding other fun things to do and give ideas when you have holes in your itinerary!
