Full description
This is a 2-hour experience in Tokyo, built around Akihabara Radio Kaikan, TAMASHII NATIONS STORE TOKYO and Super Potato Akihabara. It is run by Fantasy Travel Japan LLC, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Tokyo is the largest city on earth by metropolitan population and it is best seen as a set of neighbourhoods on the Yamanote loop line rather than one place. Asakusa has Senso-ji, the city's oldest temple, and Nakamise's shopping lane; Shibuya has the scramble crossing and Shinjuku the bars of Golden Gai and Omoide Yokocho; Harajuku is Takeshita Street and Meiji Shrine's forest; Akihabara is electronics and anime; Ginza is department stores and sushi counters. Everything runs on time and the last trains are around midnight. Cash still matters in small restaurants, an IC card covers every train and bus, and tipping is not done anywhere.
The price covers guide, 1-hour maid cafe admission, 1 drink and 1 photo at the maid cafe, Walking tour and 2-hour maid cafe admission. It does not cover Additional drinks and food and Merchandise purchases, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.
Travel Service Center. We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with Fantasy Travel Japan LLC before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

As a first-time visitor to Japan, I’m really glad I decided to book a guide to help me get my footing and feel more comfortable exploring. Karina was my tour guide, and she was great! She knew all the cool spots to check out and also shared the history and stories behind the places we visited, which made the experience even better. I’d definitely recommend this tour, especially if it’s your first time visiting Japan!
Ayumi was an EXCELLENT tour guide! She was Very Knowledgeable, Friendly and took us to all the best spots that met the desires of everybody in the group. I highly recommend this tour if your interested in finding a hidden gem and let Ayumi help you find it, like she did for me 🤩
Ayumi was an amazing guide for our Akihabara tour! She was incredibly knowledgeable about the area’s history, anime, gaming, and otaku culture, and she explained everything in a fun and engaging way. She was also very kind, patient, and always happy to answer any questions we had, no matter how small. What really stood out was how approachable and enthusiastic she was throughout the tour. She made me feel welcome and took the time to make sure we were having a great experience. I learned a lot while also discovering places I probably would have missed on my own. Thank you, Ayumi, for making th
What a brilliant tour! for a lover of anime and vintage computer games this was amazing. Places and sights we would have never found on our own, and a super friendly guide made it all the more fun, so thank you for that!
Masa was super helpful and full of enthusiasm. He took us to all the best spots and have us enough time to browse around whilst answering any questions we had. It was and amazing tour and would highly recommend! Thank you Masa-san!
Karina was a great tour guide! She helped us find everything we needed.
Excellent tour, going thru various stores, and alleyways. Helpful going into various stores with AC, as it was July in Tokyo, and very hot. Not much stairs, except 1 spot where we took an elevator up to 6th floor and walked slowly down 1 floor at a time looking at each item. Very manageable for older family members. We all enjoyed finding various anime merch, and seeing the local vibe. The guide got to know us, where we were from, and what kind of anime we liked so he could point it out in the various shops. Very personable person, friendly. Mous
Tour guide was great. Was very knowledgeable about Akihabara both past and present. We visited some amazing stores and came away with some great merchandise. Would recommend any fans of nerd culture.
Very Fun and interesting! Learned everything about anime and retro games ! Really recommend if you’re an anime fan!
Masa was a fantastic tour guide. He was incredibly helpful and gave us excellent information on exactly where to find things to buy around Akihabara. He was truly invested in the experience and tried incredibly hard to help everyone in our group with useful information. My only critique is that I would have preferred the tour to be a bit longer, but overall, it was a really good experience. Highly recommended!
Lauren were amazing very nice and answered all of our questions
Yuka, oyr guide was amazing! Kind, thoughtful and spoke English. We, or the kids, enjoyed it so much that they wanted to go back and we did. They enjoyed the anime shops and playing the games. Really enjoyed going to the maid Cafe.
