This is a 2-hour experience in Tokyo, built around Akihabara Radio Kaikan, TAMASHII NATIONS STORE TOKYO and Super Potato Akihabara. It is run by Fantasy Travel Japan LLC, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.

Tokyo is the largest city on earth by metropolitan population and it is best seen as a set of neighbourhoods on the Yamanote loop line rather than one place. Asakusa has Senso-ji, the city's oldest temple, and Nakamise's shopping lane; Shibuya has the scramble crossing and Shinjuku the bars of Golden Gai and Omoide Yokocho; Harajuku is Takeshita Street and Meiji Shrine's forest; Akihabara is electronics and anime; Ginza is department stores and sushi counters. Everything runs on time and the last trains are around midnight. Cash still matters in small restaurants, an IC card covers every train and bus, and tipping is not done anywhere.

As a first-time visitor to Japan, I’m really glad I decided to book a guide to help me get my footing and feel more comfortable exploring. Karina was my tour guide, and she was great! She knew all the cool spots to check out and also shared the history and stories behind the places we visited, which made the experience even better. Ayumi was an amazing guide for our Akihabara tour! She was incredibly knowledgeable about the area’s history, anime, gaming, and otaku culture, and she explained everything in a fun and engaging way. Excellent tour, going thru various stores, and alleyways. Helpful going into various stores with AC, as it was July in Tokyo, and very hot. Not much stairs, except 1 spot where we took an elevator up to 6th floor and walked slowly down 1 floor at a time looking at each item. Very manageable for older family members. We all enjoyed finding various anime merch, and seeing the local vibe. The guide got to know us, where we were from, and what kind of anime we liked so he could point it out in the various shops. Masa was a fantastic tour guide. He was incredibly helpful and gave us excellent information on exactly where to find things to buy around Akihabara. He was truly invested in the experience and tried incredibly hard to help everyone in our group with useful information. My only critique is that I would have preferred the tour to be a bit longer, but overall, it was a really good experience. Highly recommended!

Yuka, oyr guide was amazing! Kind, thoughtful and spoke English. We, or the kids, enjoyed it so much that they wanted to go back and we did. They enjoyed the anime shops and playing the games. Really enjoyed going to the maid Cafe.
