Full description
This is a 1-hour experience in Tokyo. It is run by Japan Guide Stars, an operator we book with directly rather than through a reseller, which is why we can hold your place with them before we treat your booking as final.
Tokyo is the largest city on earth by metropolitan population and it is best seen as a set of neighbourhoods on the Yamanote loop line rather than one place. Asakusa has Senso-ji, the city's oldest temple, and Nakamise's shopping lane; Shibuya has the scramble crossing and Shinjuku the bars of Golden Gai and Omoide Yokocho; Harajuku is Takeshita Street and Meiji Shrine's forest; Akihabara is electronics and anime; Ginza is department stores and sushi counters. Everything runs on time and the last trains are around midnight. Cash still matters in small restaurants, an IC card covers every train and bus, and tipping is not done anywhere.
The price covers Chopstick-making workshop guidance, Fluent English-speaking local staff, Choose from over 10 types of high-grade wood options, Tips for exploring Asakusa and All tools and materials provided. It does not cover Laser engraving and Select variety of wood options, so budget for those separately. Everything included is listed in full on this page; if something is not on that list, assume it is not in the price.
Japan Guide Stars sends the meeting point and time by email as soon as the booking is confirmed. We need at least one day's notice, and we confirm the date with Japan Guide Stars before treating your booking as final. If they cannot take your date we tell you and refund you rather than leave you waiting.

Very informative and fun. Quick but they go at your pace. There are plenty of Senseis who will help you make the perfect chopsticks. There are many opportunities for a slight upcharge, and I suggest taking them for the best experience. I got my chopsticks engraved and made from a beautiful rare wood.
The staff was kind and the process is fun. Having chopsticks made by yourself makes them special. You can choose from so many different woods, but you can choose options with no additional costs.
Was a very nice experience only the price of the extra nice woods at a bit to high but anyway π
We liked the activity very much! Very welcoming atmosphere, very helpful, even with taking pictures and video. Thanks to Sami for learning that to us as well! π Great to get to know Sami and Asuka!
